Hi all

Drove the turnpike today through Western Ohio and past many of the little map dots we've all come to know through this case. Weird how I've driven through this area many times before and this time was so different because I just kept thinking "those boys could be out there." I found myself wanting to talk to them, just to let them know that people are looking for them and people care. I drove past flat farmlands that flanked the turnpike and stretched endlessly into the distance. Today was quite warm here in Ohio and the snow had all but melted and I hoped that LE was taking advantage of the break in the weather to search. I had hoped for inspiration, some new thought or avenue that we haven't considered. I didn't get as much as I'd hoped.

Here's what I was thinking today, help me fill in the blanks if you can:

Do we know where in the 4:30 to 7:30 window JS was sighted near the turnpike? Do we know if he traveled one way or both? Do we know if it was JS, JS and the boys or just the vehicle?

I have a hunch that if he did something to them he might have buried them in a public place - park, etc. I think he would want somewhere where he could go back and visit them one day, as we do at cemeteries. I think that the risk of them being discovered on a private lot, even an enormous farm might have been too much.

Why would he have been gone three hours (assuming that he was). I wonder if the search area should have been wider, if he drove much farther than previously thought.

A final thought I had...this area is very close to Indiana. How sophisticated is JS? I think someone else suggested this also, but could they be in IN? It almost makes sense. Maybe he got on and off the turnpike on that one exit just because he knew it could be tracked, and maybe he was hoping to lead the investigation away from where he actually took them. He uses the fact that he lives in this little three state corner with many different state and local jurisdictions to his advantage. Thoughts?

I had to step away from WS for a bit, but am back. The fate of these little guys weighed so heavy on my heart throughout the holidays...I was afraid the thread had completely gone quiet, so glad to see some new posting.

I may well be wrong, but I am still clinging to my theory that the boys are alive. I don't know why really, just am. Either with 'distant' family, or with some one JS had some type of friendship/relationship with...through some not so obvious means.

I personally am appalled at the nonchalant attitude that some members of a certain persons family appear to have. I will not say more in fear of a smack

Has there been any mention of any more searching being done on the ground, if the boys are gone? Is LE still encouraging landowners to check their property?

when you look at him and look at his family it almost seems like they disowned him (they know what happened)and that you never hear about them. did they come up for christmas? just seems really wierd and creepy that they all just dropped off the face of the earth (his family). for someone that tells that their son, nephew etc is innocent they sure as hell are not helping to clear his name. .

Yep ....very very odd.

Now I would have to go back and dig out the links for specific wording, but the jist was,
one article mentioned Florida neighbors of JS parents saying they were close to the boys, had visits with them.
Then another article said the grands very rarely saw them, not much of a relationship.
(And some other reading I did seemed to indicate that were some members of his family that had never met the boys..)

SO which is it Mr. John Skelton???:waitasec: How close were you really with your own family???

I do not recall MSM / LE stating for fact that they had any concrete evidence of the van being on the turnpike....I believe it was speculation. Can anyone correct if wrong??

There is a lot of interesting things about that 3 state area if you go hunting them down, IMO... of course I am one that thinks out of that proverbial box ...and have done a lot of it with this situation

Hi all, it has been a while since I posted. I visted with TS and her family last week for about an hour and have been in a much more hopeful mood ever since. Mom is sure the boys are alive. She even has a warm southern loaction in mine where they maybe. (Which answered several of my questions about not taking coats and why Andrew may have trouble using the phone to call her). She of course is working with the FBI about her thoughts. After our conversation, I do not think JS was all that close to his family nor were boys close to their family in FL. TS said his family called her the first day the kids went missing and she never heard from or saw them after that. Our conversation and other things I saw with his family speaking to the media makes me believe they have something to do with the disappearance, or at the very least more knowledge than they are saying. Personally, I find their attitude about the situation disturbing and upsetting. I have not heard anything from local law enforcement about any new searched just that they are working the more than 900 tips they had.
Kind of a side note, but another thing that yurks me is when media reports that the town is "back to normal" nothing could be farther from the truth. I know it really bothers TS that her kids friends are missing their friends. She has tons of stories about children that are scared and upset or cry at night (mine included). I know it is on my kids minds because we are just sitting at at dinner, or watching tv and they start talking about they friends. This pain is what make me so upset that my kids are hurting and I can not fix it. THis and just because I love this family and these boys makes me want to find them and to get on here and help any way possible. I think the more minds the better. Thank you all for all the research you do and how much you care. TS is so touched by all the people that care so much about her children.

Thank you, as always, for keeping us updated Keepinghope. Your input is invaluable for giving us some insight into how things are going. I am so glad to hear that TS is feeling hopeful, that makes my heart feel much better. She was on my mind over the holidays. I am glad she knows there are people who don't even know her, that care about what she is going through, and care about her boys. I am so sorry that your family, and the families of the town are still having to emotionally deal with this. I wish JS would just come out with where the boys are already! He is hurting more people than just TS with his childish behavior. IMO

I really do hope these boys are sound and safe!!!

yes, for me, even for the 'other' side, that their hearts and minds will be touched to do the right thing, should they be privy to any helpful information.

Regardless of the family's personal situation, it is so wrong to not know the where the boys are. The safety and well being of the little guys is the absolute most important thing and IMHO All else should be set aside, and everyone involved should work toward their hopeful return. Or sadly, I must add, a recovery and dignified ending.
It is a terrible shame that other innocent children should have to hear about this, and be fearful...

As a side note, the only thing I have read about the 2 possible sightings, that were specifically mentioned in MSM, is that they weren't confirmed...

does that mean definitely confirmed as NOT true...or confirmed as just not able to say for certain?

Keepinghope, do you know if any of these 900 tips may have included any other possible sightings, after the original date of disappearance?

Keepinghope, maybe you could ask...
I wonder if JS was able to get certified copies of the boys birth certificates. Seems like I recall something being said about birth certificates back in MSM in regard to the trip to Jax. I wonder if TS knows if JS had some.

Anyway on that thought,
I wonder if 'someone' could pose as TS, or even JS, and with valid information having been provided to them by JS, apply for certified copies for JS, or TS, and even the boys?? And take on one of the actual parents identities??
In many places this can be done over the internet!
Are vital statistic offices made aware of missing children and Social Security for the non- custodial parents???? Are files tagged ???

If they aren't , I would sure as heck think they should be!! Anyone else see what I am wondering?? Out yonder, in little podunkville, is a new single parent, or couple in town, with their cute little kids USING real names..........would anyone put 2 +2 together??

( and did you know that birth and death records are not cross referenced?? That is why is is 'easy' to get a BC & create a new identity oftentimes)

Even now their are many people totally unaware of the missing boys. It could happen.

Amandareckonwith - great case file. We have a wonderful ($30k) mapping software at work, I'll try and put together a map with all the locations and distances \ time required to travel mentioned in these threads this week.

No new news stories in almost 5 days ... hope that's just because the holidays are keeping the news media on skeleton crews.

TS did talk to me a little about the september trip, which I knew about before any of this recent event occurred because that was right in the begining of the school year and soccer season. But TS said he was trying to get a copy of the certificates for enrolling them in school in Fl. Her word was trying not got. Of course I do not to press for info.
I know the flea market sighting was from a former morenci school teacher. She actually wrote a letter to the editor of the local paper (stateline Observer) saying she never said it was the boys and that the media ran with that, but what she said was matched a similar description.
I also know grandpa Don said he did not believe it was the boys again because they think they have an idea of where JS may have had them on the way too. I just am reluctant to say the location because they have not said it in public.
Oh one thing I forgot before. TS said that she is working through the greif and that they all are just getting mad at this point. Mad to the point they are tired of sitting around for the phone to ring.
And I did pass on all your loving concerns and how many have said it shows great chactactor on her part not to fling dirt or trash the father which I am sure she could.

And how would they respond to the Police Chief's repeated statements that he doesn't anticipate a positive outcome? I don't mean for you to ask, but have these things been voiced and if so can they be shared?

I know you may not know a lot of this and there's a lot that can't be said, but I imagine the family and police have the best handle on what's going on and I'd be interested to reconcile the two because they seem to be giving different expectations.

Thanks for your posts, last night my 8 year old daughter included Tanya, John and the 3 boys in her prayers before bed. I really hope that at some point down the road I can tell her things are ok.

Thanks again for the update KeepingHope- I bet the family is mad ...along with their grief....that SOMEONE knows where these boys are and isn't telling for whatever insane, selfish reason!
I am Certain that LE is doing investigating, based on what the family might think, and on particular tips that have been called in...

I don't want to know 'where' as it could hamper investigation, But I sure hope it involves some of the who, what , where, I've been thinking...

I spoke with mom, grandpa and grandma all at seperate times and all have said without fail they believe the boys are alive. I think to some point they just can not let their mind go there to the other possible outcome. I think none who know these boys can. I mean no one wants to think they know someone that was capable of killing a child(ren).
I actaualy asked Tanya that day why did she think they said the positive outcome statement, she said because of what JS said but he has changes stories so much that she said that now they(LE) really are not sure what to think and at least to her have kind of backed off on that thought.
If you want to do a little investigation on your own please revisit on the story from 13abc in toledo when they spoke to the paternal grandpa. Hear what all he talks about and I think you will get a good idea.
