On Friday, Kristofer Thompson, 29, was sentenced to life in prison without parole, bringing to an end the criminal cases against four defendants...

June 19, 2008: Jurors hear Dena Thompson's admission to police: "I wanted Troy taken out of the picture... To be gone for good." Four days later, she is convicted of first-degree murder.

July 1: Lori Lathrop pleads guilty to accessory after the fact; later sentenced to six months in jail.

July 17: Scott Lathrop pleads guilty to assault with intent to do great bodily harm; later sentenced to 23 months to 10 years in prison.

July 18: Dena Thompson receives mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole. A judge says Thompson had no remorse.
