Southfield police seek tips on missing 10-month-old girl

Tru Jones' mother has been unable to locate the baby or the child's father who was caring for her.

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WILX) - Michigan State Police is searching for a missing infant out of Southfield.

Police sent out a missing endangered alert for 10-month-old Tru Jones on April 5. According to Michigan State Police, Tru’s mother got full custody of the child on April 1. The child has been in the father’s custody since January 2024. Police said the father, Jayden Cathey, was aware of the court order and refused to bring the child back.

Tru was last seen on April 3 at around 1:30 p.m. Police believe she may be in the Albion or Jackson area.
