I live in Richmond and actually live a few blocks away from the courthouse. so i might try to attend the trial if I haven't found a new job by then.Even though I don't know James I want him to know that some people believe in his innocence.

No they dont keep in touch at all, she dont even want me to keep up with it, I think she is just trying to block it all out because she has moved on with her new family, I just cant stop thinking about him in jail and how much I think this is so messed up I pray that it all turns out for James

First let me say I was in no way trying to pry about your daughter. I can well understand that she might want to forget things and move on with her life. My only intent was to try to learn a little something about Haley. I am sure you understand why I might be interested. I do hope everyone is healthy and happy and I also wish the very best for everyone. I am very please that the people who are now reading this forum are open minded and understand that the press did not serve the interest of anyone in the way they covered the bond hearing and other court actions. I sincerely look forward to the end of this thing so everyone can move on with their lives. As everyone has said (HAWG) it's good to have you back.

Thanks for your understanding. I assume you are telling me that there are other pictures of Haley available to those logged on as your friends? I don't pretend to know what's going to happen next month but I do hope that justice does prevail. I know that small town justice often has more to do with whom the players are than facts. This case has more twists and turns than almost any that I am aware of. With all the evidence that was not collected, not tested or not reported I cannot imagine how any jury could send someone to jail for this so called crime. If these girls died of seizures as I suspect, there wasn't a crime regardless of what happened in that house that night. The body was not protected, her clothes were lost and we have no idea how much damage was done in removal of tissue during the organ collection process. The bottom line seems to be that this case appears to made up of nothing but reasonable doubt. Regardless of the outcome, I do know that this case has handled in a way that suggests absolute disregard of established investigative procedures that have the standard for these types of investigations. Take Care out there and again I ask for your prayers for Alexis.

HAWG (and others)
I just finished visiting with James and I feel comfortable that he understands the need to be responsible when it comes to being a parent. We talked at some length about that this evening. James certainly appears to have grown up a lot and I know that those who are willing to help him expect him to get back to work and fulfill his responsibilities. James did say that this attorney has visited him recently more than once and that he appeared to be upbeat. Needless to say I am hoping for a fair and speedy trial and hope too that he will be reunited with his family. Again everyone out there....Take Care and keep everyone even remotely associated to this case in your prayers. Needless to say that includes. Alexis.

I hope it is a fair and speedy trial for his sake this has went on long enough. I just want him to take care of himself then everything will be alot easier for him. He needs to go back to school and be someone after all this. He has it in him if he will just do it I know he wants to. I wish him my best!!!!!

The cover letter said there will be many witnesses called. Since there are no witnesses and little if any forensics this could take a while. I'm thinking at least a few weeks.

oops
I meant to say "eye witnesses" in that last posting instead of "witnesses". Sorry. Believe me I am looking forward to this thing being over. Perhaps a trip to Florida after the trial would be nice. Take Care

Hi BB,

I have been here since the start and I dont recall any other witnesses besides immediate family, EMT/LE/CSI being around the scene. Are there a lot of people from this list or am I missing something??

PS- Thanks for the updates as usual :blowkiss:

The witness list is quite long. I expect them to call the investigator, the coroner, the pathologist, the treating physician at the hospital, the EMT people, the Stanleys, friends and associates of the Stanleys, and perhaps James' friends. It is possible of course that they might have affidavits, interrogotories etc. from sone people who cannot attend the trial for one reason or another. I would think those are the obvious ones. Who knows? I seem to recall someone saying they expected the trial to last a couple of weeks or a little longer.

Does James have a public defender?

  • #298
I will let you know if they call us for any reason but I dont think they will they I havent talked to us since the hole thing got started so I kinda dought that they will need Ash for anything. James does not have a public defender. He is being defended by Terry O'Maley and Adam Forrest from a law firm in Richmond. I think Terry actually is a former Wayne County prosecutor and I think also that the judge that is handling this case use to work for him.
HAWG
I am pleased that Ash and yourself appear to have been spared from what I expect to be a very sad ordeal. Please thank Ash for the kind words she had about me in her statement. I am very proud of her making the Dean's List and I know that down the road it will make it easier for her to have a good living. Needless to say you can understand how good that makes me feel about Haely's future.
Everyone - Take Care - the countdown has begun.
