And you also see video tape that is very clear.....Casey Anthony in Target comes to mind...........I seriously doubt that MSP is lax in this investigation. It seems some think they are real bimbos and don't know how to do a good investigation.............I personally think they have done a great job thus far and will continue to follow thru and seek justice for VS!
I agree. I think they have done a great job.

We don't know what all they have on DS but just from what we do know, IMO he will be found guilty. RSs testimony along with a lot of other pieces of evidence will do him in.

I just wish they could find VS. How horrible for her body to be stashed somewhere. How horrible for her family to have to think about that everyday.

I'm not a fan of using an endearing name like "Ricky" to describe the murder accomplice. Makes him sound like some poor, innocent young kid like Ricky Schroeder, when in reality, he knew the whole time the horrors that DS was going to exact on his wife.

This guy did nothing to prevent Doug from committing these crimes. No calls to authorities, no calls to the family, to Venus. He did not come forward when MSP made it known that they knew there was an impostor. He is testifying only because he was found by MSP and he is trying to save his own 🤬🤬🤬, but he is every bit as despicable as Doug Stewart if what he claims happened is true.

So I really have a hard time with everyone calling him "Ricky".

That's just my take on it...

Think, I agree with your entire post.

But, from what I've heard, he goes by Ricky so I guess that's what people call him.
I agree the name sounds innocent and childlike. But, I see why he's referred to as Ricky here. That's his name.

That's his name and somehow it fit well enough that people didn't decide to call him something else. It might serve him well in this case, if everyone imagines it's endearing as you do, think, but I expect most people to look at the character, not the name.

The papers are not calling him Ricky Spencer, the District Attorney is not calling him Ricky, nor is LE. FWIW

Good point think. Those 3 agengies would use his legal name for sure.

As a Kimberly, I'm sure if I were ever in any trouble, I'd be referred to as Kimberly.

No one I know calls me Kimberly. I'm Kim or Kimmie. (although I much prefer Kimberly now that I'm older).

I guess Ricky or Richard would work.
Or, we could just stick with RS.

Whatever, I prefer to call him the "guy" who could have saved VSs life with 1 phonecall to LE!
Or the 🤬🤬🤬 that helped DS take 2 little girls' mother away from them forever!

I agree with you as well. I would expect the people that know you to call you Kim, Kimmy, etc...just as I would expect the people that actually know Richard Spencer to call him Ricky. Does anyone in this thread know Richard Spencer though? Only the people who want RS to appear likable would be using that name for him.

I also expect RS's defense attorney and his parents to call him Ricky whenever they have the opportunity to, during any news interviews, sound bytes, etc, to attempt to humanize him, to make everyone feel a little bit sorry for this poor, stupid, simple kid that DS lured into his evil plan and brainwashed. That's how "Ricky" is trying to justify his actions. That's how "Ricky" is trying to get off easy.

MSP asked the impersonator to come forward, that there would be "big trouble" if the person didn't, well...he didn't, they had to go and hunt him down in Maryland...I'm mildly disgusted with the fact that this person hasn't been charged in connection with this homicide.

He seems to me like a cross between Napoleon Dynamite and part Forrest Gump.

It sounded like Doug wore him down after repeatedly requesting his help. The kid repeatedly told him no. Doug was telling the kid his wife was abusing the children. The kid also say Doug was like his big brother, best friend...

If DS is as manipulative and convincing as he sounds, there is no doubt in my mind that he was able to wear RS down, just like he did Venus, taking every ounce of energy available to comprehend, or think rationally, sucking every ounce of self-esteem, resulting in an inability to think clearly, brainwashing to the point of trusting him, irregardless, just to shut him up. IMHO DS is sick and deserves the same fate that he ("allegedly"..yeah right!) bestowed upon "his beloved."

Yes!

And then I would add that a kid can be coaxed and encouraged into playing the bad boy/criminal. The video game mentality and then the big man sharp shooter attitude. A lot like how new gang members get recruited.

There seems to be an great deal of time discussing addressing Richard Spencer by the name Ricky.

The name Ricky is the name Richard used for himself at his myspace page (linked earlier within one of the VS threads). It is the name he goes by. The name he is refered to by those who know him, thus it is used here. In many cases you may have noticed a nick name or an alias listed for various cases discussed here at WS. We utilize them because the person being discussed is known by his or her peers by that name.

I hope that answers the question regarding the reasons for the use of the term Ricky when refering to Richard Spencer. Ricky, RS, Richard Spencer are all acceptable terms to use when refering to RS.

thanks everyone.

I've spent the last few days working with my dog. She was originally trained to locate small spots of fresh blood on the top of the ground. However, she is doing great and getting the hang underground locating. I revisited the spot in the woods where I dug the test grave, and it stands out well. If I'm in the right area, I feel very confident I would find Venus. I'm interested in what everyone feels are the top three locations they would like to have searched first.

Several people mentioned freshly plowed fields because of the time of year, and farmers might not appreciate the sniffing. I'm way too far away to have a real guess, however. Thanks for your efforts!

Where is Venus??

Another night goes by and her two baby girls have no answers. Fess up, Doug! You're already toast.

I can just see him planting her in a tomato patch or somewhere he knew she would hate-what was her least favorite vegetable or was she afraid of water? I could believe he would put her someplace where he believed she would be terrified.

I will start searching and report the spots she is not at. After reviewing the trial, I think it was between 8:30 and 9:20 that he would have buried Venus. Ricky got the first call at 7:00 (ds needed phone #). Ricky received the next call between 8:23-8:30 (ds says it's done). Ricky received the third call at 9:20 ("I had to find a new spot"). Also, the call Ricky received at 9:00 was on ds cell phone, and he didn't answer it (it wasn't ds). I think he would have wanted out of Michigan before burying her, but I don't think he got on the toll road w/her.

Do you recall if there were other things discussed on the 8:23-8:30 call? Or was it basically, "It's Done..." and that was it?

COLON TOWNSHIP — Police this week plan to comb areas of northeastern St. Joseph County for the body of Venus Rose Stewart, authorities said Monday.

The 32-year-old mother of two has been missing since April 26. Michigan State Police investigators are convinced she’s dead but police have yet to locate her body. Her estranged husband has been charged in her death.

"Risko said police have retrieved Doug Stewart’s Dodge pickup truck. They plan to send the vehicle’s tires to a state police crime lab to compare the tires to tire tracks investigators found at the scene of Venus Stewart’s disappearance."

Sounds like they were finally able to get that truck!
