TY TY TY for finding all that. I looked and looked and passed on that one because it surely didn't look like a swamp.

I was so glad to see this, and I popped right out of the pessimism. They are going to find her.

Body Not Recovered, But Police Pinpoint Areas For Further Examination
On Thursday, police searched about 160 acres in an area known as Black Snake swamp.
Her body was not found, but officials said late Thursday that several places of interest were marked and will be examined much more closely.

The 160 acres were sectioned off into three parcels.
Along with several divisions of the Michigan State Police, officers from Sturgis, Three Rivers, St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department, St. Joseph County Victims Services and the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s office took part.
Also assisting were seven K-9s and a cadaver K-9.

The search, which lasted a little less than eight hours, turned up nothing of significance, Michigan State Police Lt. John Slenk said.
“We’ll move on from here,” Slenk said. The lieutenant said police plan to conduct another search for Stewart next week.

Me too mtrooper. This family can use a the prayers they can get IMO.

I can't imagine what they are feeling knowing Venus' body is out there decomposing more each day. Horrible.

She needs to be found. This family needs to be able to bury her body in a final resting place with dignity and respect.

Douglas Stewart makes me sick!

Article from this morning. Nothing new really. Just talking about today's search.
They will search from 9:00-3:00.

Searchers were looking for anything out of place, hoping that if there is evidence in the area, it hasn't been hidden by all the growth.

“Back in late April, when Venus went missing, it wouldn't have been as thick,” said Det. Scott.

On Thursday searchers did find a few suspicious spots that have been flagged for a second look. While bone fragments likely belong to animals, photos of them will be sent to the state police lab for confirmation. A firearm was also found not far from the edge of a road.

Investigators are primarily looking for clothing, digging tools or a tarp. The alleged accomplice of Doug Stewart told police that Stewart had dug out a spot he planned to bury Venus in, but according to the witness it was discovered by someone before the murder.

“That's one of the other things we are looking for, not just a grave site, but a pre-dug hole,” said Det. Scott.

McComb says he's even gone to some areas himself in search of his daughter, but admits it's like looking for a needle in a haystack. He also said that while he thought the pain over losing his daughter might start to ease, it's only been getting worse.

I thought there were people nearby where the hole was dug so he changed his plans. I didn't think the hole was actually discovered. Or else those that discovered it would have reported it to LE by now.
