Doug Stewart reminds me so much of Drew Peterson. A true sociopath, one that treats the persons in his life as inanimate objects such as a sofa, or a weakening microwave. They are dispensable when they are done with them with no feelings attached. Those in that category are some of the most frightening killers amongst us. Most are intelligent and have the capacity to get away with these crimes.

Venus we are still here....and looking.

Maybe we can hope a hunter will soon stumble across her gravesite.

This is so sad.

I hope so for the sake of her little girls. They deserve to see their Mother properly buried.

DS sure isn't going to tell, if he cared for those girls at all he would.

I was thinking maybe. The article didn't really say yes or no.

But, every search so far it seems they mark areas for the next search. They must think they are close.
Seems to be the same general area each time.

body found on road side pull off in PA, I don't have time to see if this would have been on Dougs route back East or not. Can someone take a look though ??

Seems Colon to Newport News, VA is 12 hours 30 minutes. If he went through Newport, PA it would have taken him about 14 hours and 11 minutes. Not sure if he had time to do that. But, I wouldn't rule it out.

ETA: I've just been thinking he buried her someone close to his parent's home because of where they have been searching. But, you never know.

I think she is relatively close to his/her parents house because he wouldn't have a body in the truck for 12 hours. He would have gotten rid of evidence within a couple of hours.

I still think she is probably in Ohio...which is still less than two hours. Somewhere around the Walmart...dig the grave when you buy the murder kit...save yourself time on the way back after the murder.

Just my opinion though.

Douglas Stewart in court on sexual misconduct case involving daughter

CENTREVILLE — The estranged husband of Venus Stewart made a short court appearance Wednesday to be arraigned on an amendment added to a civil petition that alleges he engaged in inappropriate sexual contact with at least one of his daughters.

The amendment to the petition alleges that Douglas Stewart, who is facing criminal charges in connection with Venus Stewart’s disappearance and presumed death, is unable to post bond or care for his two young daughters, according to St. Joseph County Assistant Prosecutor Chuck Herman.

Herman said Stewart denied the allegation and a hearing in St. Joseph County Family Court will be scheduled for sometime after his Nov. 1 criminal trial in St. Joseph County Circuit Court.
