Is there a copy of the search warrant on the dads home or truck?

Was Venus really up when the mother left? I know I wouldn't get up that early.
are they saying the perp actually drove into the driveway? then he saw her out by the road at the box and then drove in, jumped out and fought with her.

Wonder why LE did not take propane tank with them...could have held sweat, spit, something that flew off the perp if he was near it...

I heard grandpa say that LE dusted it for prints....then, IIRC, he said he found prints of her slipper on it.

I disagree on that, particularly in capital cases. I know in practice it doesnt work out that way, but it is morally wrong. What if the circumstances are just that and you execute the wrong person?
This is a broad subject, and probably beyond the scope of this thread. We don't know what kind of evidence there is in this case yet, so I am speaking of other cases. I believe in the jury system and the ability of jurors to reasonably assess evidence, circumstantial and direct. I don't believe there has to be DNA or fingerprints in order to prove guilt. I would rather have plenty of circumstantial evidence, which paints a complete picture, over one eye witness any day of the week.

I think in this case they need to place DS or one of his vehicles in Michigan to make a case. Or bank withdrawls/computer info that could indicate a plot. Preferably all of the above.

I don't know....and, I can't lie.....I'm beginning to feel a lot of hink with this story. Maybe it was just dumb luck on the side of the perp that Venus decided to mail a letter after mom was gone and dad was asleep. Pretty brazen. And, if neighbor noticed a truck in the field, man crouching down behind it, why didn't same neighbor notice an abduction in the driveway?

THERESE MCCOMB, MOTHER OF MISSING MOM VENUS STEWART: Yes, that -- she got up out of bed, she had coffee with me, one of the girls was up early, gets up early, too.

And I`m getting ready for work, and we`re just having coffee together. And everything, you know. I was getting ready for work.

I feel like they are treating this like she is dead. do you think there was evidence at the scene that indicated she had been injured?

  • #169
Wow , they must have gotten up at 5 or 5:30 too have coffee together.

  • #170
So, actually, Venus could have been missing at 6:05. If mom saw her that morning before leaving for work...
I agree, it could've happened earlier than 7:30am if the only thing they're going by is when dad woke up.

I don't know why I keep thinking airplane, private , but I do ..here is something I came across just trying to learn more about private planes. I know that he would be able to be traced on flights but not if he used an alias etc....

How far in advance do I need to book my charter flight?

One of the major benefits of using Air Broker Net is that you can arrange a private air charter through us 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with only a couple of hours notice. For large transport jet flights and more complicated itineraries (with multiple destinations), we suggest at least a few days notice. However, in emergency situations we are capable of launching any size charter jet in a matter of hours.

Can one change schedule after a booking has been made?

Yes! Flexibility is a key word in air charter, especially when chartering smaller private aircraft.

Are tickets needed?

Almost never. When chartering a smaller aircraft we only need the passenger names and information one or few days prior to departure. I some cases we can get you a flight within a few hours of prior notice. When chartering large aircraft, some airlines require individual tickets or a group ticket, but most airlines require only a passenger manifest.

How many airports can Air Broker Net’s aircraft fly into?

Air Broker Net can access over 5,000 airports in the U.S. alone compared with the 560 that can be accessed by a commercial carrier.

Well if the husband is the POI, and we know where he is, where is she if she's alive? In addition, it seems her dad believes Doug killed her from what he said tonight on NG's show. MOO

Investigators enlisted the help of the Newport News police department to find clues about a woman they fear is dead. Venus Stewart disappeared on April 26. Her estranged husband, Douglas Stewart, lives in Newport News.

Police have not named Douglas as a suspect, but court records show investigators believe he may be involved.

According to court documents filed in Newport News Circuit Court, a Michigan detective had concerns Venus "may have been abducted" and "may have been killed."

Michigan police wrote to Newport News counterparts that there may be evidence in the truck.

In seeking help from Newport News, a Michigan detective said he also wanted to search the Dodge pickup truck for blood, hair, tarp, and the clothing Venus was wearing when she was last seen.

I am confused about the men seen near Venus's home. There is a report about the man who came out of the water, asking where he was at and then there's the report of a man crouched by a truck (looking similar to Doug's truck). I guess these are two seperate people or do we know ?

It was 37 degrees that morning at 7:15 with wind at 10mph gusts at 19mph.
I want to know what time the mailman shows up in that area.

Mystic thats really good information.

So was she expecting the mail person soon? He should have seen something if so. What time does the paper guy come through there? What about a school bus?

I don't know if the neighbor who saw the guy crouched down did a sketch or not, I don't think police have said.
I know the sketch released was of the man at the lake... Not sure if I helped or not

I'm thinking they're two different people. Dad says he knows who the guy in the water is, a local, and this was the evening before Venus went missing. The other guy by the truck nobody got a clear look at only saying he was a white male. MOO

It would be helpful to have a sketch of the guy crouched down by the truck, huh ?

If the x made this marathon run, I don't think he left her body there. I think he used a tarp and dumped her a long way from her house.
