He is probably blaming himself because he was home when it happened. I am not going to judge how he acts. I wouldn't want to be in his shoes. They must be devastated.
I agree. He's her dad, and maybe feels if he hadn't been asleep this wouldn't have happened.

It reminds me a lot of my Uncle when he isn't comfort, he isn't one to show too many emotions to strangers.

It's certainly possible that he is exhausted, nervous about the TV cameras or whatever...the chairs and their placement didn't bother me. But I will say this, I don't even know these people and I would have had a hard time sitting there and not tearing up and leaning over to give her a hug...you'd think after 32+ years of marriage, he'd have done the same. TV camera or not. It's just something I and apparently others had noticed and thought was strange.

I think it's almost safe to say the front page of NG isn't reliable information. Local TV news and newpapers would have been all over it if it was...

I feel sorry for the guy. He's tried to protect his daughter against threats from her estranged husband, and now she's missing. It's got to be excruciating for him.

That video only says to me that he's unfamiliar with being on TV and doesn't know what to do. He also looks exhausted. I don't envy at all what his family is going through, nor the weight that's got to be on that father's shoulders right now.

As for the chairs being placed where they are, they were more than likely positioned there by NG's camera crew.

I have to admit puff - I felt angry at dad for not comforting mom - I wanted to reach out and put my arms around her - give a hug.

Eventually, I realized he was in front of national TV and probably had no idea how to comfort his wife or if he even could. Other married couples with mom crying for help, the same thing happens. I'm sure at this point they are both feeling exhausted, helpless, and frantic. moo

Ok, the way I read the bit on NG's board was that the search warrant included a receipt for those items...not that they FOUND a receipt...it is very misleading, if that is the case...and also apparent blood stains, not blood stains...he may be a hunter for all we know..

That's the impression I had also from what I'd read earlier. LE got the warrant to look for those items. MOO

1 hr and 2 mins till NG show, I wonder if we are going to have to wait for this info until Monday ?
Hopefully before then they have arrested someone and found Venus

The third comment as well about the money.
I thought that comment about Venus draining "his" bank account, very interesting as it hadn't been out on the news. This person must have some inside information.

Breaking news! Apparent blood stains found in both vehicles belonging to the estranged husband of a Michigan mom abducted when she went to the mailbox in her pajamas to post a letter! Plus, search warrants reveal a receipt discovered in the husband's truck for a shovel, tarp, cap, and gloves. Is this a new break in the case? Nancy Grace has the latest breaking developments, 8 & 10 p.m. ET on HLN.

Oh I agree... At first I thought it was a bit odd as well. Then, my uncle's ways flew into my head. ;-)

They are keeping this case as tight as they can yes, yet there are somethings that have been making me question my first thought... of a hired hitman or helper. I hope something does come out soon.

I think we're all hoping this is resolved soon. :)

I read it as a store receipt that showed the items bought.

You would have to believe that LE has only given this information to NG, because it's found nowhere else. Most LE don't feel that NG does a very good job of helping them with their case because she always takes a stance on the first day and has been accused in the past of making outlandish accusations that were proven to be untrue.

Besides that...check this out...I guess being a person of interest isn't just for suspects...
