And what about the assault charges, the heated arguments in the street, the repeated divorce filings, restraining order applications? You can't just selectively look at the last few events in this saga and make conclusions about their relationship from that, you have to look at the entire relationship.

Based on what we know about their whole relationship I think that both of these people lived on drama, what happened is that after she returned to Michigan something changed. The drama stopped being make believe and became real, and that she didn't fully understand that or fully appreciate that she really was in danger this time. Which is why things are where they are now.

I think she fully understood it when she said to her father that he would remember this conversation (about her being killed) when he tried to reassure her nerves.

We only have to look at the entire relationship to see how it evolved and it evolved into her realizing that she had very good reason to fear for her life IMO.

Her murderer tricked her into leaving the house. She didn't just go out there on a whim. And either way, she should be able to feel a bit more comfortable on her parent's property in another state than being in the same house as the person she's afraid of.

So after reading this article it looks like Venus was dead withing minutes of being abducted ... I guess it is good that we know she did not suffer, I just can't believe how nonchalant it seems Doug was about the whole thing. Just like another day for him I guess. Also within a few minutes he is saying he has to find a new spot to bury her because people were around, so I take that as she must be fairly close to her family's home ?
I wonder if where the truck was spotted if that is where he first intially dug the hole.

So, did he strangle her? Then I am willing to bet he has scars on his arms and body. Unless he did a chokehold from behind and then he would still have scratches on his arms. I bet he was photographed when they picked him up....I wonder what they saw.

He said he guaranteed his children a future, right? Allegedly said this to RS.

I am so glad Venus dad said that on the stand, asking if he had murdered anyone lately. He did much better then I could have done, I would have probally attacked him ...

My heart just aches for VSs family. It really hit home with me yesterday when Mr. McComb said "She was our baby".

As the two men hung out, Spencer says Stewart spoke of his troubled marriage and how he wanted Venus gone.

Spencer said, "For awhile now he's been deciding when to do this, saying he's going to go kill his wife."

Spencer said Stewart repeatedly asked him to be his alibi so he could come to Michigan and kill his wife.

He said he rejected the idea several times before deciding to do it.

Okay, so Ricky Spencer should be able to tell cops which phone Doug Stewart called him on. As long as he still has that phone they should be able to verify a time on that. Or at least narrow it down if he can remember what he was doing. With the impersonating maybe that will help with the time line.

I was right... Doug did leave his cell phone there.

It was a "few minutes" after what that he called Ricky Spencer back? After he abducted her? After he called and told Ricky about abducting her? That would help with the time line too. If they can figure out the time he called back and said he had to find a new spot.

There were people around the spot. Camping area maybe? Or some type of recreation area? Or neighbors visiting?

How often do you have this much information to find the body..... really I think they could do it. With information about the areas he has gone plus the testimony from Ricky Spencer.

And what really ticks me off is they would still have their baby and those girls would still have their Mommy is RS would have picked up a phone and alerted police that DS was on his way to kill his wife.

IMO DS and RS should never see the light of day again.

Within a few minutes of calling to tell him he killed her... we don't know when he called to tell him that. I thought I read earlier that was between 8 and 10 that morning?

That's what I'm wondering too. They should have a good idea how far away she is based on these phone calls...

Another bomb shell moment for me was the fact they had tried it already, and had to call it off because DS got a ticket from Mi police for drifting, or something like that.

Okay, wait a minute.... I am confused.

So, they find Ricky Spencer and he has obviously talked to Doug after the crime... because he told Ricky HOW he got Venus out of the house.

So WHY didn't they stick a wire on him and have him call Doug. Say "dude, did you see the media? They know about me? What am I supposed to do?" Maybe ask him for money to leave town... Ask him if he is sure he hid her where she won't be found.... see if he could get him to tell him where he left Venus. Give him a week or so to be paranoid and bother Doug. See if he tells him where she is, OR goes back to check on where he left her.

What would it have hurt? They still would have had all the same evidence they have now...but they might have had even more. They were in different states so they could have kept an eye on Doug to ensure he didn't head back to hurt Ricky.

I think they missed an opportunity there....

Probably because the "What should I do?" conversation had already occurred when the article about the impostor first came out.

The most recent article states Ricky Spencer testified that Doug and he communicated through XBox after Doug murdered Venus "because Doug was afraid his telephone conversations were being recorded."

The "What should I do?" XBox conversation apparently included deciding Ricky should delete his MySpace account.

(Because a family friend of Venus's parents stated on the wall of the Facebook group "Where is Venus Stewart?" that Doug and Richard were MySpace friends, I have to believe the sole purpose for Ricky's last log on was to delete his account to cut this tie with Doug Stewart as well as make his photograph, name, age and location unavailable to law enforcement while considering who the impostor might be.)

Thousands of hours? If you spoke to someone 2 hours a day it would take 17 months to speak to them for a thousand hours. Thousands of hours since 2008 would require them to talk for well in excess of 2 hours EVERY day.

BBM....LE will be able to verify that he was playing by looking up the screen names he uses to play and I believe there is a log that shows game time play ....

No, I don't think it came out today. FS talked for almost three hours. The defense ask him why the tape of his police interrogation was so much shorter than his testimony today, and he said he started to remember more. Everyone was blown away by FS. After hearing that, they had plenty to keep DS in jail.

FS said DS called him from a track phone from around Venuses parents house at seven in the morning and needed the phone number for Venus parents. It sounded like DS actually told FS his plan.

Because you typically are not talking that much when playing. Certainly not having a conversation, your focus is on the game.

I know there are people that play to such excessive levels, but those folk in my experience are VERY focussed on the game they are playing, they are not chatting. It is an addiction to them.
