Troopers searching for man missing from Benzie County

Troopers are searching for a missing man in Benzie County.

William Schnarr, 22, was reported missing on February 26 when he left his home unexpectedly around 9 a.m. without a vehicle or most of his personal items, according to Michigan State Police Troopers.

Schnarr's grandpa reported him missing around 11:30 p.m. that night and said he left a vague note saying he was leaving but didn't say where he was going.

An MSP Canine Unit searched the area and couldn't find him.

Troopers believe he left on his own but want to verify Schnarr is safe.

State police say Schnarr did not have a car and left most of his personal things behind, but say he did leave a vague note saying he was leaving.

Schnarr is thought to be wearing a tan winter coat, tan winter hat and black boots.

Honor man still missing
A canine team initially searched near Schnarr's home, but found no sign of him.

Benzie County Sheriff Ted Schendel said Schnarr's behavior is not unusual as he has done this before.
