Circumstances of Recovery

February 26, 2023 the decedent was a Haitian migrant being smuggled into the United States onboard a boat. The vessel that was transporting the decedent was intercepted at sea by the United States Coast Guard (USCG) and Palm Beach Sheriff's Office. The decedent along with the passengers onboard were detained on the vessel pending return to Haiti. The decedent was placed on the USCG ship, which remained at sea to continue their joint task force operations. On March 1, 2023, the decedent complained of abdominal pain and refused all medical treatment and assessments onboard the vessel. She later became unresponsive and was transported to University of Miami Hospital where she was admitted through the emergency room, however, she expired shortly after arrival.

Nobody on the boat knew her real name or even a nickname? Maybe what part of Haiti she was from or which family? She looks young, maybe 20s.

I believe this is the same woman. It states she's 40 years old.

PRESS RELEASE | March 1, 2023

Statement for death of Haitian migrant on Coast Guard cutter

"A Haitian migrant died aboard a Coast Guard cutter operating off the coast of Miami, Wednesday morning. The crew aboard U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Nathan Bruckenthal attempted to resuscitate the 40-year-old female after she was found unresponsive. The woman was medically evacuated by the Miami-Dade Fire Department after efforts to conduct CPR and AED procedures failed to revive her. The woman was transferred ashore for further transport to a nearby hospital. The deceased was interdicted with 53 others on Feb. 27, 2023, approximately 2 miles off Lake Worth Inlet. The woman did not have family members aboard and notification to next of kin is being coordinated through official channels. The Coast Guard is convening a standard administrative investigation into the matter." - Coast Guard District Seven

How does anyone know she is 40 if they don't know who she is? I mean that's pretty darn specific. Am I missing something here?

This is a lengthy article, and so incredibly heartbreaking. It does mention this lady as shown in excerpts below:

"Tcherry fell asleep on the larger cutter and woke at around dawn to commotion. He saw an EMT pressing on the chest of a middle-aged woman who lay several yards away from him. She had been moaning in pain the night before. The crew member keeping watch had found her dead, her nose and mouth covered in blood. Another Haitian woman began to sing a hymn as the EMT performing CPR cried. A small boat took the woman’s body away .."

and later

"that the body of Guerline Tulus, the woman who died on the cutter of what the medical examiner concluded was an embolism, remains in a Miami morgue, and that authorities have not identified any next of kin"
