Michael D. Lowe 1956-1976
Michael D. Lowe was a gay man killed in an unsolved hit and run on Felicity Avenue along Route 8 in the Pittsburgh suburb of Hampton Township. He died several days afterwards at Passavant Hospital.
His story was covered in local papers and believed to have been an accident at the time. However, press coverage dried up, and his case appears almost entirely forgotten. There is strong local suspicion that Michael’s death was an intentional hate crime perpetrated by a specific person very close to him.
