Thats completely incorrect, they were never given the chance because when the Defense asked to skip the evidentiary hearing and go straight to trial, Scott Ellington, the prosecutor, refused. The question to be asked is not why the WM3 took the Alford plea, but why the prosecution accepted it. They were under no obligation to take it, and had all the time in the world to prepare for a retrial of what was/is the most infamous murder in Arkansas history. The truth is that Scott Ellington knew the original convictions were a joke, and that he would get slaughtered in a new trial. Not to mention how Arkansas would be sued back to the stone age. He opted for the Alford plea, which he described as a "lucky break for me" after they were released.

Ellington, IMO, doesn't know enough about the case to form a valid opinion! He's said two telling things, IMO:

1. He admitted that he hadn't "had time" to read all of the case documents.

2. He stated that he wanted to use the evidentiary hearing as a "discovery tool" and claimed that as a reason for not granting the defense's request to skip the hearing and go straight to trial.

Do either of these things sound like they came from a man who is "convinced" of the guilt of the WM3? To me they don't!

BTW, it is not held against physician's whether or not they are Board Certified. Board Certification is quite an expensive undertaking. It costs for the test and travel to and from testing locations. It also requires extensive study preparation and some oral exams. Not everyone is cool enough under pressure to carry it off even if they have the time and money. While it most certainly is a plus, physicians who have not undertaken this task should not be considered a less able physician.

Mr. Peretti tries 3 TIMES and failed. To me, that says everything we need to know about his abilities. I've listened to his testimony about his 'expertise' on the occult and it's sickening, when in the end, the most logical explanation probably IS the real explanation; the boys were drowned, and animals fed on them. Did this man even KNOW what animal predation looked like? I am still listening to the series of podcasts by investigator Bob Ruff on Truth and Justice. The Satanic Panic was real, and unfortunately, too many 'experts' fell right into the mire with it.

I need to correct myself. I wasn't hearing Dr. Peretti, I was hearing the so-called 'occult expert"...I forget his name now. Mr. Griffith? Something close. He was difficult to listen to because he sounded like Elmer Fudd, and he may as well have studied "The Life Cycle of Unicorns' because the information would have been as credible as what he had learned in his correspondence school on "occult practices.'
