That wasn't eccentric. It was dangerous. The children were groomed into believing it was normal and acceptable for an unrelated grown man to want them to share his bed. These children were in show business which was, and no doubt still is, rife with predators. Corey Feldman, Drake Bell and the Nickelodeon scandal are good examples of that. Letting those children sleep in his bed was selfish and harmful to the children.

IMO, his brain didn't work like a normal adult's. He was traumatized due to years of abuse at the hands of his father and never got to live an actual childhood. Him letting children sleep in his bed was his perfect idea of a childhood sleepover.
