Scandi, I've just got to think that Raleigh's probably had many murders. If they're continuing to perform their autopsies & write up their reports as they've always done and not run into any problems at trial, it must be ok.

Great to have you back in the saddle Saint! ;} I have thought about that too. The thing is I could see it if the guy was a sexual perv or a serial killer, as killing gives many of them a turnon. Here, the husband who evidently has to have absolute hate to annilhate her like he did, hard to imagine him - Hmmmm, well you know what I mean, right! I'll just say 'feel the urge'.

That is why they should have done the test though, even if there was nothing apparant re SA.

Re Radiograph. In the AR this comes under 'Additional Procedures' and all it says is Radiographs: A radiograph of the head does not show metal fragments.

About the teeth:

it's a screwup.
but maybe the initial exam didn't show evidence of rape - no contusions or bruising. it could also be that michelle refused him and he went ballastic and bashed her to death, thus precluding sex.

It's possible but I would think there would be more bruising everywhere, as in struggle. This ME did seem to make note of many scratches, bruises, lacerations, abrasions etc.

I think she struggled with all her might to pull that hand away from her neck - desperately, and I think a fingernail got him. Oh, I bet that is why Harrison wanted the NOI within 5 days and stated he knew there was a struggle. It was about the hand on the neck.

I think LE expected to see wounds, like a scratch mark on one of his hands, maybe wiuth ultravioilet light cause I think it would show up then.

I wonder if they found anything healing on his body?

surely if she was able to scratch him, the DNA is under her nails. i really have this hope that Michelle is able to show who killed her.

That could be Saint. I read Steve Huff at his blogspot yesterday, and he had a list of 4 or 5 things gleaned very early on in the case from a supposed insider who he believed was reliable. One thing was that it was being mentioned about the Youngs they were planning a divorce. Another was that at first they thought there was a sexual motive in the case. Another was about the neighborhood kid who barely knew who the Youngs were.

Anyway, if they were getting a divorce and she had called it quits because of his erring ways and had given him the boot, why would he want sex with her? To punish her? To try and win her back over? Just wondering. I do think she would refuse him, don't you?

rape is about control, not sex.

because michelleY was 5 months pregnant, i doubt whether they were doing it much. he was a surly and very insensitive man - a major jerk. he didn't care what michelleY wanted.

I think Michelle was very opinionated, in a good way, strong, had her limits as to what she would and wouldn't tolerate. He had no power over her anymore cause the bloom had worn off. It could be he would rape her just to insult her and show her she couldn't control everything.

I don't think he raped/tried to rape her. I think this murder was planned. I'm just not sure when the planning started. It could go all the way back to that accident.

I think maybe after that failed attempt, he decided against murder but it was always in the back of his mind and he finally acted upon impulse.

Oh Jilly, that is an awful thought! The only way we will find out is if MM testifies she had called Michelle that night to make amends with her and tell her she was pregnant. I've always thought that happened.

I think Cassidy had heard plenty of shouting between them, as we read on the board they had a lot of arguments. So at least she was somewhat conditioned if there were loud voices that woke her up that morning.

i read the blog. i found this part interesting:

Husbands who kill their wives either make them disappear, make it look like robbery, or sometimes try to make the slaying look like a sex crime — and the signal that the killer wasn’t after anything but death is often that there wasn’t any sex after all.

So, if the crime was gruesome and thought at first to be sexually motivated, maybe jay did something to make it appear that it was a sexual attack. there has been a hint by the wife of a co-worker of MF, that something horrible had been done to michelleY.

from reading the blog, i understood steve huff to mean that the poster named Enchanted Oaks was referring to themselves when they said that they only knew the Youngs in passing. they weren't referring to the neighbor boy knowing the Youngs in passing.
