Too bad motive isn't as important as means and opportunity when it comes to looking at a murder case, It is the one thing the DA doesn't have to prove, BUT, if one discovers what threat the killer could not live with, it will solve your case, and the killer will pop right out there in your mind - unmasked.
Dr Keith Albow said this during the Laci Peterson murder case, and said it is the one common thread that occurs in familial murder. The killer has to eliminate the threat so he can go on in life and be happy.
We do have a few clues here about the POI, that is forum style clues that hopefully have been developed by LE into facts:
* Sex w/ MM only once. WOW, after 3 months of daily contact that seems wildly telling to me now. Their relationship was an old friendship. Both had problems in their marriage. Basicly platonic, he began to depend on her, MM, and due to alcohol consumption, one night got away from them, and they had sex. I can see that being the way it really was - I don't think there was an overwhelming passion between MM and Jason.
* Jake told us {if you choose to believe him as he doesn't always speak plainly} that Meredith knew something of a derogatory nature about Jason that she did not want to share with LE. Jason had a secret.
* Michelle sought the advice of a therapist, the notes of which were ordered by a judge to be turned over to the prosecutor after she was murdered. The legal reason for this is Michelle was evidently in imminent danger from what was learned by the therapist.
* The therapist was an odd choice for regular counseling. She was covered by insurance from CO, but many therapists were that dealt with regular family counseling. I read their names and specialties listed. This therapists specialty was transgender issues, helping those in need with this situation to be accepted by society and also how to maintain and re-establish family bonds in light of their differences. I read that in a link about her practice. That was the concentration of her family counseling, to further help the client, as family acceptance is so important in these cases. A recent discovery of a sexual change in her husband, and his threat to kill her if she ever mentioned a word about it, could be the reason she chose this specific therapist. She would know how Michelle should handle this situation.
Well, I might be all wet, but it seems to add up for me, at least with what I have learned at this point. Scandi
