Scout,

It is possible that there was some addiction with JY (other than drugs). Please note the attached link - JY posts as youngpack. It seems his computer keeps getting hijacked and in this link he is trying to get assistance to correct the problem. Not positive of where the computer gets hijacked to but probably a safe assumption it is somewhere rather nefarious.

http://forums.spywareinfo.com/lofiversion/index.php/%22http://lovefreegames.aavalue.com/LFG/t8591.html

Well, I had these same type problems with computers (only I had teenager that contributed to the problem) - but I have nor had no addiction. It was simply crap that automatically gets loaded to your computer from going to various web sites like Napster (back in the day when Napster was not so legal and clean as it is now) and websites that give you icons for your AIM instant messaging, etc. I posted many times on different forums trying to get help in getting my computer straightened out - it was cheaper than taking it for repair every time my daughter wanted new icons for her IMs or I wanted music from Napster.

Not giving the husband an all clear - cuz I do think he is responsible for her death - but not necessarily thinking that posting on a computer forum gives him an addiction. It could, tho - just wanted to point out that there is a logical or innocent explanation for that.

There could be logical and innocent explanations for everything as easily as there could be, not so innocent explanations. The computer problem could be nothing. We are learning that computers seem to be a rather common item when it comes to crime - often telling a story. The fax could easily be a very innocent item as well, the business trip, the alledged affair with MM, all of it could go either way.

Close_enough,

Have you been hiding or just busy ? Hope you had a good holiday !

As you can see, you haven't missed much, the newest item is a search warrant for a lap top computer taken from Jy's SUV. None of the media links have posted a link to the full warrant so all we know is what is in the articles. Do you recall when Polk is due to be back?

so they were "scouring" the laptop on the 23rd of December....should be something coming out about this soon, wouldn't you think???...well, that's only been 6 days...guess this COULD take a couple of weeks huh?....

i remember reading over at ctv about the talk of a 'new machine' being used in the case, & someone (a newbie) posted that it was possible it was a machine used to pull files & such from computers....hmmm

I was quite happy to hear they had the lap top. This indicates to me that "perhaps" JY did not have time when he was at his folks to unpack the SUV from his business trip. I would like to know what all was in that SUV.

From the article it sounds like LE is looking for financial info and correspondence with insurance companies. To me this is very telling and JY's refusal to assist in the investigation adds to it.

I believe they are close to an arrest.

No, the lap top was not mentioned with the original six. I have continued to check the N & O and WRAL sites and articles to see if they have posted a link to the warrant as they did with the others - but haven't found a link to this warrant at all. Would like to see it.

One of those dangerous thoughts popping into my head at reading a post above. Charlie commented that he may not have had time to unpack the SUV when he arrived at his parents home.

When did he call SIL to retrieve the fax/printout? Did she have his cell phone number? Could she have called him back before he reached Brevard with the bad news? I probably need to go research the timeline to find out if it's possible he was contacted before he arrived in Brevard.

I was thinking about something the last couple of days. I think JY's parents know alot about MY being murdered. Why would the dad tell the media that JY fell plumb to his knees when he heard MY was found murdered? That is something most people wouldn't share, I think he put that out there right away to make it look like Jason was so shocked to hear the news and make him look innocent before anyone would think he killed her. I can however see him falling to his knees when he told them he killed her though. The biggest sign of guilt for me is when the dad got him a big time attorney right away. Jason wasn't ever grilled yet by LE.Most people, if innocent would head right to the police and and get as much info as possible, he didn't. I think his folks knew of some problems between JY and MY, maybe they knew he was having an affair with MM. If this happened in my family, the last thing my parents would think about is getting an attorney.

The reason the family gave for no one telling Jason about his wife being murdered before he got to his folks house is because they didn't want him to hear the news while driving alone. MF would have had his cell # on her cell because he left the message for her to get the fax. She would have had his #.

BG,

Hello - hope you had a great holiday - even with all that snow. As for when JY called MF about the fax, most of the articles indicate it was in the morning but no specific time. Some indicate that he left her a voicemail, again we don't know for sure. MF could have had time to call JY back - it seems reasonable to think she would have his cell number.

If you check the warrants - about the cingular phone in particular - the warrant indicates that JY was frequently checking his voicemail. IMO this tends to indicate in a way that JY was not answering his phone but rather allowing everything to go to voicemail on Friday when Michelle was found (Sounds familiar doesn't it?). Based on that I would think there was time for both MF and maybe even LE to call JY before he got to Brevard...JMO

So it's possible MF called him while he was on the road. He'd have time to plan his big show of "grief". If LE wasn't present at his parent's home when he arrived, then who would know his true reaction outside of the family. I guess we'll have to wait until we get news of the findings in his cell phone/s.

Don't know if you followed the Vitale case, but Daniel Horowitz of course found his wife - he was placed in the back of a squad car with his cell phone in hand and Daniel was making calls - so it is very possible IMO that MF made an effort to contact JY possibly near 2 pm after LE arrived at the house.

LE will know if she contacted him and whether she had to leave a voicemail. They'll also be able to find out if he retrieved that voicemail too as well as what time it was retrieved.

It's probable that if Meredith was the one to try and contact Jason without luck, because he wasn't taking calls, she would've contacted her mother, before contacting Jason's mom and stepfather.

I still question why LE seemed not to have been involved in the notification of death to Jason, who is in reality Chelle's next of kin. As it's a homicide, the notification ideally should have been from an official source or an official should have been present. There seems to be an official missing, even one from Transylvania County. Unless they dispensed with an official notification due to Meredith being family and having been the one who found her, but I wonder if Meredith was able to hold herself together long enough to make phone calls......if he knew before arriving to Brevard then he 'shouldn't have sunk plumb to his knees because it would not have been a surprise'.

In Daniel Horowitz's case it may have been because he was his wife's next of kin, so he didn't need notifying first. (just a guess :) )

Rambling on coz I missed y'all!

Some good questions - LE does have an obligation to make notification - especially in the case of homicide - LE also has an obligation to be able to verify such notification was made. I suspect Transylvania Co Sheriff would have sent a rep to the Brevard location.

As for MF keeping it together - I suspect Cassidy would have been with her where ever LE removed them to, so I think there is a strong possibility she kept it together. JMO

No Grammy yet? The point with Daniel - he was on the phone after LE removed him from the crime scene proper - he was in a squad car sitting at the house calling relatives and friends.
