Good Morning Strach,

The 15 year old had an older friend who lived in the trailer park, and I think that came from an insider {whoever told about the problems in the neighborhood}. I read in a link that LE had talked to people in the trailer park, but not that they asked if anyone from there had ever been in the Youngs house. Then there came a link that was through a TV report on Greta that they talked to people there and in the neighborhood to see if they saw anything unusual or any cars in the neighborhood between 12 and 6am.

Of course that is just what they told us. They might have had other reasons to talk to the trailer folk that would remain QT.

Scandi

No I actually read where he was quoted and they gave his name in the news observer at the time. Although I thought it was odd I did suggest at the time he was the friend of the neighbor's that we heard about from the ctv and abc boards. There were two others that also talked to the media but never said they asked them that.

I just went over to ctv to see the post you're all talking about and there are several responses and then he tries to explain himself. What I think he may mean or what's behind his thoughts that he isn't expressing real well is from what we saw in the Laci Peterson case. Modesto was her hometown and all the ruckus there. Maybe he's thinking they feel like they have to protect one of their own which would be Jason.

Thanks Charlie, as I didn't even think of that.

So the reason the DA is so contraversial is because he "called the players "hooligans" and said he was certain a racially motivated rape had occurred." He then filed charges I believe before the investigation was finished and they really knew the full truth about the event.

LE and whoever will be prosecuting the case will now be under close scrutiny just because of the way the Duke case was handled, so now it makes more sense to me that they are scrutinizing everything, and why they let the public know last week they are even going as far as checking fingerprints all the way across the state in Brevard. Some PR on their part.

Is that how you read it great Kimosabe? LOL Scandi

This is not a prejudicial statement! :D Why does it seem like there is such a problem with murder in NC? That and NJ and Penn.

Scandi,

That is exactly how I read it as well. When you put this article in context with this case - it makes absolute sense. It extends to the press as well because the press was definitely mis-used and even abused (not that they don't at times deserve it) with respect to the Duke case. Then you think about what JY's step dad said and it makes it pretty clear to me that everyone in the sheriff's office, DA's office has been forewarned that any behavior other than silence and complete professionalism will not be tolerated. They have also been told that this investigation will be absolutely by the book. No mistakes. We have all noticed how "different" things are with the way this case is being handled and we've all complained about no news. I suggest we settle in because I have a feeling it is not going to change anytime soon. JMO of course.

Well stated Charlie, How are your horses faring in the cold weather. From the map I saw last night it's warmed up a bit there. I had taken in all my outside plants and had put one hanging geranium in a wooden pot back onside. This morning she's back in the bedroom ecause its colder outside than sitting down in an outhouse in the dead of winter! I did that in Norway when I was 12, and never again. :p

Scandi,

Its not bad during the day - single digits and wind at night however. The horses are fine but disgruntled as they are use to being outside during the day. With all the ice I cannot let them out so they are restricted to exercising in the arenas. Some I can let loose together, others have to be on their own so, they are quite warm but not so happy. Since this is such a change from routine I am watching them pretty close for colic.

We have generators at each barn and at the house so water, lights, and heat are not an issue. I'm on barn duty and have been since this started. My wife is entertaining the neighbors we have staying with us due to the power outages (I'm glad to be in the barns!). Occasionally they throw me a few scaps of food but I have a coffee pot and a computer here in the barn so I'm pretty happy when I'm not shoveling the sh.. The boys come out alot and help and we get to actualy enjoy ourselves without all the distractions of routine. All is good !

Hope all is well with you as well.

What a great story - you've been married for awhile I take it! :D I only thought babies got colic, but it sounds serious in a horse!

Too bad Norman Rockwell isn't there to catch you in your 'barns'. LOL Love it!

17 great years come this spring ! But I've spent a few nights in the barn on more than one occasion and had I bought that car I wanted I would be forever living in the barn, and there are certain names which must never be spoken (shhh - Danica Patrick, Uma Thurman) !

Colic in horses can be deadly. They cannot regurgitate if their stomach is upset. Often they will roll to alleviate the pain and this sometimes results in twisted intestines and that most likely is the end of them as most do not survive the surgery. Horses are creatures of habit - their routine changes and some of them stress and colic so...here I sit. Warm up is coming - the ice will go and out they will go.

Something better happen soon in this case ...before someone here strangles me for being OT.

No complaints about OT for me......I love horses!...and beats the boredom of waiting and putting my files together!

I just emailed Kimberly G @ The Lineup to tell her Thanks for being such a hard pressing hostess on her show. She always tries to learn one new thing in every case she covers, and I think her method of delivery is strong for a reason. She interviews to find out everything she can, not just joke around like Greta does sometimes. She's passionate about what she is doing.

And of course I told her I belonged to Websleuths and we all watched her show!

So I did learn one thing tonight, as she did cover Michelles murder case. Jason has been given a battery of forensic tests by LE. I thought that says a lot! I think she got that out of Amanda.

Scand,

My wife just called down and said she watched this as well and she learned something - she was watching a man and a woman in a red coat walk up the drive to the house and the man just reached down and pulled up the garage door - either the opener is broken or there is no opener on the garage door. Hmmm...

Oh Sami, you poor dear! No FOX for you and you are such a good girl! Baa Haa Haa Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa And you are good, believe me. :) That's awful. I would think technology would have taken care of that by now. If they can beam up rays to the space statioin, hey, why can't they send some down to Aussieland so our Websleuthers there can watch Cable News!

I know I'm being a bit bad, but am so excited because right now my precious dog show is starting on The Animal Planet - also Discovery BTW. It is the Eukanuba Dog Championship {Good Lord that is definately the wrong spelling, so sorry}, second half to pick the top dog in all of dogdum. The first half was last night.

I don't have a dog, but these dogs are like people. Amazing, as they know when they have done good and win. First thing they do is look up to their owner to say, yo mama, we did it, and then they always do a little dance. Even the Bloodhound did that and got excited when he won best in show a year or two ago. I did love that bloodhound. Actually I think the German Shepard won last year and the Bloodhound the year before that.

Enough, and on with the show!

I saw that too Charlie. The guy was an investigator I bet, and do you think the woman was the DA Becky? Could be, as she was at the scene. He was a big kinda stocky guy and she was a bit petite with dark hair. In a lovely short red wool coat, so I bet it was the DA.

Scandi

Your wife must be a luv if she calls you in the barn to give you a heads up on a neat little tip! YaYa

PS: Hey Charlie, you don't think she's checking up to see if you are still there or not, do you? :D :D :D

According to another Jason Young in the area, there are alot of Jason Youngs around there.

It is a very common name in NC. Almost as common as John Smith.
