I read this sad story yesterday in the DM

I just don't understand why allegedly trained gun owners don't use common sense. Why have a loaded weapon, safety off, with a round chambered, on your body? Is that really necessary? Is there something wrong with using the safety switch when you're carrying a gun on your chest?
