Cali, I just saw that pic above your comment and the hand holding the white thing in the upper left corner looks like a guy's hand to me (kind of hairy forearms!)!

You are probably right, the photographer WAS a woman...but the rest? Yikes.

It's more just plain stupid than inappropriate, and believe me, it's extremely inappropriate.

Fact is she was not caught getting out of bed, she was prodded and poked at for probably a good fifteen minutes between starting the pose and the camera snapping it. I would love to know how she was lied to. I cannot imagine she was told, 'oh, we won't use it' since it was Annie Liebovitz and the day was probably costing VF about $3000 a minute. Who would waste that money?


'Distressed?' You betcha.

Lied to? I think not.

But here's the thing though... she IS cute and seems to be a really nice girl. I just think that this was a situation where a bunch of adults got an idea in their heads and went a little too far with it and at the center of it was a 15 year old child and now SHE has to suffer the consequences. how unfair is that?!?!

Yep, that's true. but you know what they are like in showbusiness. trying to be one step ahead of the game. they are doing what they can to market her for the future as other than she's marketed as now.

it's all an illusion.

Her Mom recently told this story about how Miley is grounded if she wears something that exposes her stomach (like that pic with her Dad). They are all just full of BS.

Fifteen year old girls aren't stupid. They are capable of understanding that if you strike a seductive pose while topless with only a sheet for covering, the photos are going to show a seductive looking topless girl covered with a sheet. How was she lied to? Did the photographer tell her the sheet was actually a t-shirt? :waitasec:

I agree with what others are saying. I don't see how she was lied to. She had a sheet wrapped around her. Did she expect the pictures were going to turn out with her fully dressed???

IMO, she's going to end up another Lindsay Lohan. These parents want money and fame for their children but I don't think they stop to think about what price it will cost the child in the long run.

I don't think she was necessarily lied to, but can you imagine the pressure she must have felt from all the ADULTS in that room, including her dad at least that must have just been sitting there doing nothing. :mad:

i agree with you 100% taximom. so unfair to this kid.

That's true, too, pedinurse. I think photogs just get in a mode and don't think? Or she knew very well what she was doing, and VF would profit from it. I tend to think she knew what she was doing!

Look folks, 15 or not, she is a BILLION DOLLAR INDUSTRY in herself. This is nothing more than a business decision by herself and her dad and/or manager. You know she got paid A HUGE HONKIN' BUNCH of $$$$ for those shots (and I'd say her father did too) -- and Vanity Fair is known for racy photos and NOT kid material. I bet she wasn't too embarrassed to take that check to the bank. Now that parents are throwing a fit she's gotta backtrack and put the best spin she can on it. Sounds like very old-school Britney to me actually -- remember back in the old days when she was just the "perfect" kid and never did anything wrong because Mama would be all over it?

I should note that her American Idol bit was done not five miles from my house (and at my child's school) and as a community we're still upset about the portrayal of our area -- both their reactions to it and the editing of it by AI. And I've never really been on the Hannah Montana bandwagon either.
