Miley Cyrus Embarrassed by Vanity Fair Photo Shoot - Racy Photos

I'm sorry for your past. That's horrible. But I don't think anyone held down Miley and forced her to take these photos.

Also, about the Disney suits...I bet they weren't there. They probably would have said "NO" from an image standpoint.

For now, I'm going to give Miley's parents the benefit of the doubt. I think maybe the photographers crew tried to keep Miley's parents busy so they could take those questionable shots. The parents probably saw the shots that they were taking were innocent enough so they felt comfortable leaving for a few moments. That's all it takes to be asked to remove your clothes and your training bra for a bedsheet shot.
thank you for the kind words about my past.

nobody held me down. i never fought. it was my grandfather and when he said to do something i did it. no threat of physical harm. i was just told if i loved him i would not tell. i did not fight him for the same reason i did not fight back when my mother took me for shots at the doctor or when my father told me to bend over for a spanking. children often bend to the will of the adults they love despite their own feelings.

according to VF her parents or handlers were there the whole time.

What I can't wrap my mind around is how everyone is saying that the ones with her dad are weird.

Has the American mind become so perverse that a daughter can't take a loving picture with her father? Obviously they are very close. I see nothing sinister there. Just a dad and his girl. I think it's lovely.

Really? I love my dad more than anything, but i would never in a million years pose like THAT with him. Its very uncomfortable to look at. In my opinion.

I dunno. Like I said before, if she's really embarassed she can give the money to charity. Actions speak louder than words.

Sherri, sorry for your pain. :blowkiss:

But to equate a spoiled tv personality with actual abuse is absurd, imo. She speaks as if she is an adult "you can't say no to Annie.", and is treated like an adult until some sees it as inappropriate then its all... I'm sorry. Frankly I would have at least some respect for her and her family it they would just own up to it...
thank you rino.

the problem is she is 15. no matter how rich or famous. i think often children raised in hollywood miss out on the values they should be taught. just because the life her family has placed her in forces her to act grown up does not mean she is grown up. yes it was a bad choice for a 15 year old to make. that is what teen years are about. as teens we try to act adult but often make bad choices. this is where a family is supposed to step in and control our choices.

Only if she had said no or did not want to do this. This photo shoot is not underground or done in a depraved secret society.

Is you're logic she had been a victim of these adults for so long that she was helpless to make a different choice?

It was not her choice to make. She is a child. The adults around her should never have let this happen. :banghead: :banghead:

I just don't see it as abuse.

Not all bad parenting is abuse, and not all bad choices by teens are due to bad parenting.

In this case I think they are all just nasty

Until there's a clearcut law on this I don't think this will play out the way you want it to.

Not every adult there has children or the good sense to do that. Imagine you're a lighting expert or a stage-hand working to make ends meet. Do you think they're going to risk their job by speaking up about a questionable photograph for someone who makes millions of dollars?

I think it has more to do with how close you are rather than how much you love your dad....btw, not "you" as in you, but "you" as in anyone.

Alot of people love their parents very much but aren't close to them.
I guess it's not uncomfortable to look at for me because we are that kind of famliy. All four of us cuddle up together and lay all over each other on family movie night...and I was extremely close to my dad until he died and would even go sleep with him when I had bad dreams or was having a bad night....even up until I was 14. Nothing was wrong with that to me. He was my dad...he comforted me. Never did I feel like he looked at me in a sexual way. He was just dad...no different from mom.

The American mind is just too jaded now adays and that is truly very sad. You can't even be affectionate with your children anymore if they are ofthe opposite sex because someone might think something perverted....but that is to be expected given all of the depraved individuals in our world today.

for me the fact it is posed is the problem. i have pictures of my daughter in her fathers lap. i have told her to sit in her fathers lap and taken a picture. i have never asked her to pout or pull up her shirt to show off her belly. this is not a family photo that caught a candid moment and we then see something never intended. every inch of their bodies are placed exactly as the photographer wants to give the impression wanted.

a fifteen year old girl was told to take off her shirt and bra. she was wrapped in a silky cloth and told to use it to only cover her breast so she appears nude. they fluff her hair and paint on pouty lips. now she is told how to tilt her chin down and look at the camera with her painted up smokey eyes. so is it the fact the child is famous or the photographer is famous that makes people see this as anything but child 🤬🤬🤬🤬?
Exactly! I might call it "artsy" if it was a grown woman posing this way, but a teenage girl??? Never!

There is a clearcut law on this. In this country you are not a legal adult until you are 18 years of age. Miley Cyrus is 15.

I'm not expecting it to play out in any way. It's already happened. :banghead:

apples and rocks. the two do not compare. in one case you have a 15 year old being controlled by adults. in the other case you have a 15 year old acting on their own. had MC taken these pictures herself and posted them she would be responsible but that is not the case. adults who have a legal and moral duty to protect a minor from sexual exploitation told her what to do.

Exactly once again! 15-year-olds are minors for good reason, they aren't old enough to give legal consent. A 15-year-old murderer is NOT usually tried as an adult.

Miley could have said "NO". They teach you that in gradeschool.

Yes, she could have, and where were her parents when she didn't??? They could have overridden her decision. I heard Billy Ray had left the room, but her parents saw the proofs. Billy Ray knew how they were posing her. What happened to her being grounded if she wore inappropriate clothing?
As far as Annie L., this is no photo of babies in pea pods. I've now lost all respect for her.

It's a little too loving(incestuous) and intimate when she is sprawled across his lap and his arm is around her. I've seen two different shots and in both she looks like she is ready for sex. Besides how her legs are spread, it's the tossled hair, the red lips, the pout, and the "come hither" look.

Totally different photographers, Anne Geddes photographs babies, Annie Leibovitz did the Vanity Fair shots.

LOL, you want to talk about a double standard ... I don't see anything dirty in the photo, but I wouldn't even let my girls read Seventeen until they were at least 17. Jeez the crap they publish in those magazines.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_standard

Acceptable double standards
In some circumstances, the application of a double standard is deemed acceptable by society. For example, in many countries, laws prevent children or young adults from purchasing or consuming alcohol and tobacco products, while adults do not have this restriction. This differential treatment is a double standard; however, it is often accepted based on the belief that underaged individuals are likely less capable of making mature decisions regarding those activities.

Just like the art books that Michael Jackson had of young boys “dirty” is subject to interpretation.

My comment is just my impression of what was being invoked.

Annie L’s awesome talent is why there is such a stir. It is a beautiful photograph.

You are so right about the magazines. Even Glamour magazine!

IMO

so could every teenage girl asked to do something sexual inappropriate by a father/teacher/trusted adult. your theory discounts the control adults have over children and the imbalance of power.

Excellent point, as usual.

No one had sex with her and this isn't pornographic material.

You've just made the point for us. Pedophiles like Michael Jackson take kiddy 🤬🤬🤬🤬 and call it "art" so that they can justify it and try to get mainstream America to accept what they know is clearly wrong! Minors are not legally able to give consent sexually or to not be sexually exploited. That's why we have laws- to protect their civil rights. That's why the FLDS children have been removed from their abusive cult homes.

Yahoo poll:
Do you think the photo is inappropriate?
Yes, especially considering she's 15. 56%

It's bordering on kiddy 🤬🤬🤬🤬, and it is sexually exploitive of a teenage girl.
