Miley Cyrus Embarrassed by Vanity Fair Photo Shoot - Racy Photos

  • #241
What a great way to publicize an upcoming issue of a magazine.
Racy photos of a 15 year old star and the kid and parents immediately (before the release date) state how upset they are with the photos.
Someone in charge had to sign on the dotted line and okay the final proofs for print.
With the parents and child protests, we all want to see what the fuss is about. Advance controversity draws an audience. The magazine sells.
I can't believe the parents, manager or whoever else uses this teenager to make a living, would be duped into these photos. The time to object is when the photo shoot is being conducted or viewing the final project before it's printed.
Mom and Dad and daughter knew what they were doing all along.

Okay, and what type of pics do they "normally" have? Not of MC or any other pictures we all can see in magazines or on CNN (or any other "regular") websites. They collect them from uber sketchy websites or disgusting shops. If they are arrested for such pics, I can promise you it's not because they had many Vanity Fair magazines or the catalogs we all receive in the mail.

BTK (Dennis Rader) got his little girl pictures from newspaper ads and catalogs. Just fyi.

Sorry, I don't see that at all. Her father is looking off to the other side of her. Do any of us have any idea what photographers were telling them to do? This/was a bunch of photos during a photo shoot.

Much ado about nothing, IMVHO. I honestly will not make a mountain out of a molehill. Life is too short....:)

I agree. I don't think a young star's reputation should be tainted because of an innocent picture made with her father. By all accounts she's a good girl, with a level head and loving parents.

No, it's the pose. It does look like the old guy should be her adoring boyfriend. It's not an appropriate teen father/daughter pose. She's lying in his lap!!! Has nothing to do with having a "nasty" mind. She also sports the "come hither look" and pout, complete with tossled hair, dark red lipstick, and his arm around her.
P.S. JonBenet had professional photos taken in her backyard too. Didn't make them any less inappropriate!

Exactly!! The picture just looks inappropriate to me...it has nothing to do with me having a nasty mind...and more to do with it looking like a nasty picture.

Can we? LOL

Seriously though, I have great fear for a society that thinks it's ok to ask a child to pose naked, only half in a sheet with hair and make-up like she just had a wild romp. That's the staging and situation the adults choose to put her in, and it's not right. If we don't stand up and say we won't accept this, then it continues and the boundaries will continue to be stretched until there is none. We're almost there.

I have not read this entire thread so I may be bringing up something someone else already has but... weren't the boundaries already being stretched way back in 1978 when Brooke Shields starred as a child prostitute in Pretty Baby. Or after that when she starred in the famous "Nothing comes between me and my Calvins" commercials. I bet people thought we were "almost there" back then.

I am not giving my opinion on the pictures Miley posed for, I'm just pointing out that this kind of thing is not new in any way!

Thank you for sharing this excellent post, Data. I am so sorry that you were assaulted as a young girl. If I could go back in time, I'd kick that man's a$$. I

We freak out because we think this entices pedos and perhaps encourages more horrible assaults of young people, but I think we are transferring our own mindset of "what a pedo" thinks like onto "pedos."

The reality is that most of us here at WS do not know what specifically entices pedophiles because we are not pedophiles - and the data we have on the subject is sorely limited. I think it's something that should be studied more, though few have the stomach for it.

Once again - my deepest respect to you as a survivor.
Well I too am a molestation victim and it's irrelevant what motivates them, we do not need to provide them needlessly with this kind of photo encouragement!

It's not that it's seeing her back alone, it is the illusion that she is naked, or at the every least topless under the sheet, along with her tossled dyed hair and red pouty lips and dark eye make-up that is the problem. She does just look like she had a romp in bed.:sick::sick: Also there are the inappropriate poses in her father's lap that are equally or more troublesome!!!
Exactly!
Like I said, where is her ciggy?!?!

I'm so sorry that happened to you, Linask. With all due respect, I think what motivates people to molest children is highly relevant.

what motivates adults to want to turn a teenager into a sexual object? why would people try to dress their toddler up like a bratz doll or do a bedroom sot of a 15 year old? why do so many men subscribe legal to teen 🤬🤬🤬🤬 sites? the girls are 18 but always with the disclaimer that they are barely legal. they pick girls that do not look like 18 going on 20 but 18 going on 16. then dress them up in school girl uniforms before they instruct them to have sex on a school desk with a 50 year old man. the pictures of MC are not pleasure material for the pedo's that like 5 year olds but it is for the dirty old men that love the idea of sex with teen girls. the fantasy of sex with a girl that looks 15/16/17 is a billion dollar industry. it is sad enough when the girl is 18 and we play up the fantasy. when we take actual 15 year old girls and stay just this side of the law in using their sex appeal it is wrong.

Miley's parents need to pull her back a couple notches. She will have plenty of time when she is an adult to take these kinds of pictures. I have a daughter her age and I just don't want to see my daughter in ''sexy'' pictures it's way too young. I always tell my daughter to enjoy being a teenager becuase you only get to be one once in your life. You will be an adult forever.

My personal opinion is that men wanting to have sex with girls just turning into women is as old as the history of mankind. In that long history, it is only recent that this has even been deemed wrong (not terribly long ago, a pregnant 14 year-old woman was not considered odd or outrageous).

Our collective unconscious on the subject will take a long time to catch up with our current views. That's why it's a billion dollar industry - because it is standard fantasy fare.

I even believe that "normal" males can have this fantasy. When it's older "normal" males, I think it is often rooted in a desire for youth - to possess it and recapture some of your own. The lure of purity and innocence will always be a powerful aphrodesiac to humans possessing bodies that whither and die and minds that become jaded and world-worn.

These classic yearnings are present in all types of our art from Lolita to American Beauty. We can say "Eww - yucky - that's gross and sick" or we can explore the underlying realities in the face of the progressions of our own morals, culture and beliefs.

Yes, she is 15 and off-limits is today's society, but according to nature, she's a woman.

Some think Milo has been unduly sexualized in these photos. I would posit that a fair number of men can't help but to at least slightly sexualize Milo - and every other cute, young thing splashed across our media consciousness - everytime she appears before them no matter what she is wearing.

That's just a long winded way of saying, like it or not, Milo became sexualized the moment she entered the business she is in. Many if not most heterosexual men will sexualize beautiful women because men want to have sex with us. If they see such a woman splashed all over the place, they are going to sexualize her.

Now, mature men (and women) know the difference between fantasy and reality and are intelligent enough to possess boundaries. Those men (and again - I believe this is most men) would never assault a young girl.

I do not see sex in those pictures. Honestly, that one of her in the sheet looks like me (except much cuter!) in the morning stumbling out of bed to get myself and my family up and out for the day. That is not a sexy time for me. However, I can understand why people see sex in those pictures.

As others have pointed out, this photo is so much less risque than your standard glossy mag fare (many with models her age) that it's hard for me to get worked up over the subject. She seems more well-grounded than most of the cogs in the entertainment business machine. To get rid of our concerns about this subject, we would need to get rid of all people under the age of 18 that participate in that machine. I do not see that happening in my lifetime.

The excuses made for the depravity of grown adults fantasizing about a young teen, and other adults fueling that with the production of half naked pictures of young girls, is just astounding and so very discouraging. Our kids don't have a chance with logic like this. Logic like - it's normal. No, not normal at all.

Take a trip over to a site called Multiply. There you'll find perverts who "normally" drool over pictures of child models and "Stars" as well as photographs of children they decided to download after parents innocently posted them on Flickr and such sites. Reading the comments from grown men in regards to photographs of children in magazines to a KMart add will make your stomach turn. Yes, when they get busted these very pics are among their 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬.

Great point - so how do we stop it? If a Kmart ad will turn someone on, do we make it illegal to take photos of anyone under the age of 18 just so we don't give pervs material. That really seems to be the only solution and I don't think it's good one. Then these folks would just draw pics of children.

A week from now Britney, Paris, or Lindsey will do something stupid and we'll have forgotten completely about these pics.

IMHO, IF you feel THAT strongly about this, then take your cases to all the teen mags, advertizing companies, etc, and demand they censor their own stuff so that everyone looks like the women out of the YFZ compound. And then dress both yourselves and your kids like that as well.

YOU are your children's best teacher. I don't expect Miley Cyrus to teach my children ONE thing -- so why are you expecting her to for yours? If you can't explain to them that celebrities (even child celebs) are often asked and paid to do what you consider "tasteless" and "disgusting" things -- like these pics, and that as people with morals you aren't to do them, then dressing and acting like YFZ is really your only option.

Oh yeah, and make sure you get rid of the Internet, because their more than likely to find MUCH worse stuff on here -- free and out in the open -- by accident than the pics of Miley and her dad.

Sorry, but this is turning into Mount Everest when all it really is is a molehill and a SMALL blip on the career of the person who we can all agree is a very good child actor and surely has a great career ahead of her. I'm so over this already, and it's about time for all of us to do so, IMHO again.

Sadly it will fall upon deaf ears for most WS'ers...if you know what I mean.

They call it an "embarassing photo", but what they really should call it is child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬. Every adult present should be held accountable, from the PHOTOGRAPHER on down.

Agreed. Maybe Miley should take all the money (like she needs more)....I actually saw a "Miley Chair" at Target the other day, and donate it towards children of sexual abuse from sick pedophiles that get off on shots like this published by the media!!

In this case, she is not Demi Moore, not Madonna. The magazine should be sued, for advertising underage and exploitation!

Take a look at the sixth picture and see her moving her dads hand and looking disgusted. There is just no way that girl was comfortable.

http://news.aol.com/entertainment/m...zed-for-pose-with-father/20080429080609990001

I agree with Howard Stern she is sitting right in his crouch! And the caption reads, "Miley knows BEST".

Good grief, with all the underage pregnant teens PLZ., will someone give her a reality check, go visit the unwed mothers of pregnant teens and then apologize for your stupidity!!!
