It's all about the $$$$$$$. They are probably doing it for publicity. It's ridiculous.
I agree! I don't believe that having a "Dream Team" will make any difference if LE has KC's prints on tape or inside bag. In which case it would be a "Bad Dream".So......how is this dream team going to explain Casey's fingerprints on the duct tape if they find her prints? Guess that was tampered with too??
JUSTICE FOR LITTLE CAYLEE!!!!!!!!! :blowkiss:
Her defense attorneys DO NOT care about this innocent victim, all they care about is their client, and getting her off on the charges. They do not care if she is guilty or not, that is not their job, that is the SA to prove she committed the crime she is charged with. Who/why is someone paying for all the defense attorneys/experts? Well that is none of our business, according to Baez. I disagree with you Mr. Baez. Casey has a right to attorneys and experts but come on now, she had no job and her parents have no money. She should have a public defender like other murderers with her financial income, not the "Scream Team" like she has. Hopefully, the judge and jury do not fall for their antics.
No pizza ... no nanny!!!!

Kathy Reichs is the woman who inspired and contributed to the TV Series "Bones." She is now on the defense team.
She is a noted authority of forensic Anthropology. She is also a best selling author.
Sure she doesn't need the recognition or face time....so how does KC's team pay for this expert??:waitasec:
It's upsetting to me in a number of ways..
The average person, you or me, can rot in jail and take our chances with either a public defender or an average lawyer. Truth be known if we killed our child that's all we deserve.
The second reason it bothers me is that I remember the tactics used in the Phil Spector trial...the expert witnesses confused the jury as a smoke screen and it ended in a mistrial. I want KC to rot in he&&.
Also, lots of people stand to make money off the death of an innocent child. Sure this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for fame for them, but I wish they were working for the prosecution.
I do understand in some way these people wanting to be involved in this case...these people like figuring things out and this case is one for the books. JMO
I get what you're saying and I understand it, but, it is 100% the state's burden to prove that Casey is guilty of murder. If they can't do that, Casey deserves to walk. Now, I truly believe she's guilty, but this is a basic right guaranteed each and every one of us by the US Constitution. If this defense team is successful, that would mean that there is not enough to prove guilt. You can take it to the bank, ineffective representation will NEVER enter the equation once she is convicted. I however do not consider a mistrial being a success for the defense.
As for the Spector trial. It's my firm OPINION, that Ben, the jury foreman was bought off. There was NOTHING any of those defense attorney's did or could do to raise reasonable doubt. There was NO doubt. I have followed my share of trials and I honestly believe that no other trial that I followed was even close to being as strong. It was so absurd that at one point, they blamed the spatter on a hurricane like event happening in Phil Spectors livingroom. At another point it was stated that Lana couldn't have killed herself because all she had to do was reach up and twist the revolver and break PS's fingers if he didn't let go. Another mind blowing theory was that after being shot, Lana got up and walked around PS's mansion smearing her blood all over the place. It was simply not reasonable on ANY level. Remember, one of those defense attorneys was the former attorney for none other than, John Gotti (mob boss) and that old Ben was a neighbor to Phil Spector.
As for anyone deserving a public defender, I disagree completely. While there are many great ones out there, most as so bombarded with cases that they have little time for any of their clients. Everyone on trial deserves more than that, IMO. There are times when innocent people are on trial and until the facts become known during a trial, you can't always determine who is innocent and who is not. This point is more in reference to defendants other than Casey Anthony. We know a lot of the evidence against Casey at this point. Under normal circumstances, this isn't the case before it's presented in a court of law.
One doesn't have to look past the cases taken on by the Innocence Project to show this to be true.
I wonder if Casey was a heavy not so nice looking woman, or a minority man, would she have this defense team? NO.
Im sick of it.

THATS who she is - she's the author! Geez louise hit me with a brick - she reminds me of Patricia Cronwell - means well, but is an author and is looked at like one - one that can spin a story
It could be that the A's are sticking all these media channels with a licensing fee, every time they flash the family photos all over the news...That early on interview we saw and ABC and then the Dateline Story on NBC last night, may have cost those networks millions to get, and they just aren't going to admit to that to "joe public" because they know that "joe public" would be furious. I have no doubt that they have media dollars coming in.
I just wish all of them would be arrested as accessories, obstructors, etc., so that income would stop.

This is so true! one thing to remember is that if she is found guilty it will be much better, appellate wise, if she had stupendous representation because that narrows the appeal issues down. One of the lawyers on Fox pointed out that the jails are FULL of criminals who had good lawyers at trial. I think we can add another to the list.
Mark Geragos!Didn't they try to raise money for Casey's defense? Also what happens to all the money they were raising for her search? Guess that goes into trying to get her off on the murder now that they won't have to search any longer?? :waitasec:
(I thought Leonard just raised more money too for searching for Caylee's remains...maybe I'm wrong)
I don't remember but don't think Scott Peterson had such a huge dream team defense. Guess because he was a man instead of a young attractive woman..actually...I take that back..I know longer look at her as attractive...but an ugly little witch!!! :furious:
I'm a fan of Kathy Reich's books and the television show "Bones" and I'm kind of disappointed in her for being part of the the defense team on this case.
I know she's good at what she does and I want her on the prosecution's side!
I agree with you about being a writer and having the ability to spin a story, but it appears she's quite accomplished. I know wiki isn't the most reliable source of info on the web, but this was taken from there:
Kathleen Joan "Kathy" Reichs (pronounced /ˈraɪks/[1]) is native of Chicago and works as a forensic anthropologist, an academic, and bestselling writer of mystery novels. She is a Professor of anthropology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, but is currently on indefinite leave.[2] She divides her time between work for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, State of North Carolina, and for the Laboratoire des Sciences Judiciaires et de Médecine Légale for the province of Québec. She is one of only seventy-seven forensic anthropologists certified by the American Board of Forensic Anthropology[3] and is on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences. Her schedule also involves a number of speaking engagements around the world.

The bottom line for me is, this story tells its own tale. Mere smoke and mirrors isn't going to fight all that's stacking up against Casey. Unless any of these experts have a crystal ball, I don't see how they'll be able to show that ZFG exists, why Casey partied it up at Fusion, the squirrel stories, not reporting the child missing, all the lies, years of lying about jobs, stealing money to buy beer and new clothing, renting movies, making statements that LE can't even find Caylee's clothing, computer searches for neck breaking and chloroform (among other things), abandoning the vehicle without contacting her parents, then leaving Caylee's car seat and doll (that she went nowhere without) in the car, and on, and on, and on, and on...... They can't TOUCH all that and if they're going to stick to the abduction story, they will have to show jurors she exists. While they may say they don't have to prove anything (and that's certainly true), prosecutors will show that there is NOTHING to suggest Casey had a nanny (and we know she had no reason to have a one - aside from partying of course).
Not a phone call from ZG, not a text, not a single picture that we're aware of. Combine that with statements of, I spoke to her on July 15th at around noon, then we find out no such call occurred and it's an impossible task. We also know Casey had no money to pay for a nanny. They'd better take a plea if they can, IMO.
