To get that many convictions took careful investigation and successful prosecution - and all that takes time. Experienced WSers know that cases can take time.

But it's time well spent and criminals are being convicted through the court process and following the rule of law.

And, the investigations are ongoing. This is not a recent investigation and prosecution despite this sudden interest in the state.

IMO The Nick Shirley video was an accelerant. It created the illusion that fraud has been “accepted,” when in reality it’s still being prosecuted through slow legal channels.

I am surprised a thread suddenly popped up for this, as it has been in the investigation, charges, and court stages for a few years now.


The kingpin, Aimee Bock. founded her company in 2016.
In July 2019, MN Education Dept saw the first signs of fraud and started documenting it.
In Feb 2020, the IRS took away the company's non-profit status.
The FBI began investigating in Feb 2021.
Aimee Bock was indicted on multiple fraud and bribery charges, and dozens were arrested in Sep 2022.
Aimee was convicted after a 6-week trial in March 2025. She is awaiting sentence.
Aimee appears to be a 44-year old blue eyed, blond American.
She committed her fraudulent scheme among the Somali people - and sued the govt in Nov 2020 for discrimination because they were denying and holding up grants she had applied for.

Omarxeyd faces eight counts of felony theft by false representation. From January 2020 to January 2024, his Minneapolis-based agency allegedly billed Medicaid for various home care services that were either not provided or ineligible for reimbursement. Investigators say former workers admitted to not providing services but claimed otherwise, and Omarxeyd allegedly paid recipients while billing for services in their names.

Tensions boiled over Tuesday night at a West Bank Business Association public safety meeting, where residents and Democratic politicians voiced fears that an upcoming “March Against Minnesota Fraud” could lead to harassment of Somali community members.

The march, planned for Saturday afternoon at Minneapolis City Hall, is organized by conservative influencer Jake Lang, who has been advertising the march on X. In a post, he called for “crusaders” to “take back” Minnesota from Democrats.

Dozens filed into the Jan. 13 meeting in the Brian Coyle Community Center — a gathering place for the Minneapolis’ Cedar Riverside neighborhood and many in the Somali community. Minnesota Rep. Mohamud Noor said that while the march is expected to start downtown, he’s fearful it will move into neighborhoods with high Somali populations, such as Cedar Riverside, in order to film and provoke people.
