IKD, another good possibility.

Then there should be alot of DNA, I hope.

IMO, the timeline is so close that it puts Xtina either there during the murder or immediately after. Xtina's own statement is she returned from the party late afternoon. The bus ticket was purchased at 5PM.

Ya, ss said that a bit ago 5pm.
Wify left party early afternoon....
Hate waiting for info the Le's have and won't release, thou I do understand.

Sorry if this has been brought up -

If Xtina was at the xmas party until early afternoon, and the ticket was bought at 5pm...And it WAS maria - Then that means Xtina wasn't at the xmas party anymore right...and was possibly at the home when all this took place?

Xtina was either there during the murder or immediately afterwards. IMO, the reaction of both was holy sh*t, now what do we do? Let's go buy a bus ticket to make it look like Maria ran off. Now what time did Durham find that note?

QUOTE=Pharlap;1921217]The car would be bloody I would think.
Did Le find any?
Also think he would of moved/buried her at night time because of the neighbor's.
So where was the wife?[/QUOTE
]

That is the million dollar question. Where was the wife and why is LE being so evasive about her timeline. This is what makes me think she was either given a deal or they know for a fact that she could not have been there when it happen.

And about that stranded motorist that was making calls on Maria's phone? What are the chances your car breaks down, and there's a phone laying right there for you to use? Stranded motorist my butt!

here's the military timeline...

http://www.newbernsj.com/news/lauterbach_38149___article.html/lcpl_cpl.html

On Thursday, December 20th, 2007, Sgt Durham contacts section OIC informing him that he will be leaving on December 28th for training in California and that access to the residence would be difficult after that date. LCpl Lauterbach’s cell phone is found along Highway 24 in Jacksonville, NC. The phone was used to make several calls by stranded motorist, one of which was LCpl Lauterbach’s sister, who requests that the individual turn the phone into the police. The command is notified about the cell phone recovery and the circumstance surrounding the recovery on January 9th.

Oh my, I forgot about that. Wow, how does this fit into the murder. I think that once they get the infor back on Maria's phone they can determine where she/or the murder were at based on the pings that the towers get from the phone. This could solve allot of the questions about the timeline.

Do you think we will ever know for 100% positive that Maria did not
buy the ticket. I do not believe she did, no way, no how.
I believe it was xtina, not another woman, but xtina.
I hope someday we know the truth for sure.

On December 28, 2007, as Sgt Durham is about to depart for training in California, and with Sgt Durham’s permission, the command inventories and boxes LCpl Lauterbach’s personal belongings at the residence in order to secure her property. The New Year’s Holiday liberty period begins at noon.

Wonder if they found anything unusual.
Another thought, did Le do dusting for prints in that residence, of the steller marine?

Unless LE finds additional evidence or gets a confession to it, probably not.

I would like to know if CL was the one to leave his truck in Morrisville. If not then who. I do not think it could have been Christina. So once again I am going to say I think that a 3rd person was involved. Could CL have had another girlfriend that we are not aware of. Could she have dropped the truck off in Durham and caught a bus to meet him in El Paso? It just seems like CL had some help after he ran and i do not think Christina could have helped once she turned the note over to the LE

I have a question to ask anyone here and I posted this on the count down thread so I just copied and pasted.

I'm just wondered about something, if a person murders someone and say the spouse of that person knows, do they have to turn their spouse in or is this like the same as a spouse doesn’t have to testify against each other.. hope this makes sense..

Hi all...new here. I've been lurking reading these threads last night and this morning. Everyone's got interesting things to say. Just wanted to be polite and introduce myself before I start throwing opinions into the mix.

I was so excited to find other enthusiastic people following this case. I have about a two page summary on what I think happened, just out of fun, but it's very different from the opinions I am reading here.

Where is the info about Maria being punched in the face? I haven't read anything about that yet but have seen several people mention it here.
