SS, I think that's what happened. There's a public affairs person (male/female?) now that will deal with the press for that county. He was saying goodbye, basically.

I imagine this case was hard on him, but after all these years you would think he'd have been more professional with ALL cases, especially this one.

That's it for CNN coverage. They cut away after Brown said goodbye.

They should have taken advantage of all that press and shown Laurean's picture again. :(

My fellow sleuthers, the jest of this conference is: Maria was already dead before she was reported missing. There is nothing law enforcement could have done to prevent her death. We must and need to get behind this law enforcement agency and support them.

We ahve now learned there initial detectives on dec.19 having been given the missing report, had gotten the run around. The sheriff proceeded in contacting the CO, and finding more information as to a rape charge.

Laurean and Christina, needs to confess and repent. This sheriff will fight for maria, no doubt in my mind. The details involving this tragic sad case is a heart breaker.

The pivotal lesson to learn here, if you have a known person in your life who is missing, isn't acting in their normal contact routine, and especially is pregnant, facing adversaries as harassment, rape and assault, contact police. Investigate yourself. Lets learn this much.

The concluded it on Fox with Hudson (DA) just going over the investigation and reporting he had talked to Maria's father, Victor, to inform him of the COD and the confirmation.

I think Brown taking a backseat is bad for sleuthers!!! Now, we will have no news to go on without reading between the lines!! GRRR! I will miss Brown.

DA talking about Fetal Homicide Law. Did I hear correctly about whether the baby had taken a breath or not? He is satisfied with how the Military handled their actions in the missing persons/murder case. He is not concerned or involved with the rape allegations. He is not going to get involved with the rape allegations.

WAIT...he said that Christina needed to confess and repent?!?!?!

did the DA just say they couldn't tell who the father of the baby was or could tell??? my sound isn't that great...

Spokesperson won't talk about Laurean's wife, where she is, possibly helping him, etc. Referring reporters to the Sheriff.

I am having problems with sound as well. I can't hear the questions. So I don't know what they are answering. There seems to be a question as to whether the baby was born alive/taken a breath or not too soon to tell who the father of the baby is.

I'm having to paraphraise big time here.

You heard that right. A baby is not a real person in NC until he/she draws the first breath. It makes me sick that we don't have a fetal homicide law in NC.

OK is there a video of this presser? I am confused now. I just need to watch it again!

Bancard found is the one used at the ATM.

It's still on live on WRAL. They will probably have the video on their site so you can watch it again.

lol, sorry I worded that wrong. There seems to be a question as to whether Gabriel took a breath or not. Not all autopsy info being released to us, has been sent to investigators.

Me, too. He is honest and straightforward and obviously passionate about justice and the victim. Also, he's got quite a turn of phrase.:)

CNN back on again.

Transport her body back to OH for burial.

They cut back away again! Grrr..

Yes, I will miss Brown.

I did not hear Brown say anyone needs to confess etc., I think that was KL's commentary after the fact. lol Brown probably would like to say that though!

Any question asked of Christina, she has provided an answer for.

I just want to know what he's going to tell us after POC is caught!
What could it be?
