Isn't that the saddest part, that when he is caught and goes to trial, it'll all be about blaming Maria as if she deserved to be bludgeoned to death along with her unborn baby.

That is true, that the 🤬🤬🤬 usually end up victimizing the victim again. But.......I think our jurors are becoming a little more savvy and realizing they CANNOT believe the 🤬🤬🤬 AND their attornies when it comes to their THEORIES regarding the motives etc of a victim who has been forever silenced.:( ...........hopefully at least!

I think Sutherland got put on because Ed Brown was giving too much info, giving his POV, expressing his feelings.... and showing his emotions.

Sutherland had a stone face and admitted to not telling Greta everything he knew, if he knew.

I think a lot of info was being giving out at first and then they had to retract and say it was rumors or wasn't proved (proven?)

I agree, I think Brown was too emtional to deal with the MSM's.

Maybe I'm still suspicious after following Phil Spector's trial and his defense that the victim killed herself ~ and got a hung jury. I don't think that would fly in this case though especially with all the evidence found in his house. I'm just hopeful now that he's found and brought back to stand trial.

I think it's pretty much impossible to beat yourself to death.....he said she came over and cut her own throat - not that she came over and beat her own skull till she died. Ooops....

And how many people watch someone they work with kill themselves in their house and don't call 911? I think it's pretty incriminating that 🤬🤬🤬 buried her and built a bonfire over her a few days later. If she really killed herself, you'd think CL and C would WANT the authorities to see the scene so they WOULDN'T be blamed - but NOOO, they buried her and proceeded to clean up the blood and repaint - and then continue a 25 day elaborate cover-up which included stealing from the victim and driving her car to various locations.

The evidence does not even come close to matching what CL and Xtina said happened. And I for one, do not for a minute believe that Xtina bought a silly, "honey I swear she came over and cut her throat right her in our house for no reason" story. I cannot imagine what woman in her right mind when confronted by a dead body, and blood soaked scene would go "that's ok honey, I have been wanting to redecorate this room anyway so we'll just bury her out back and clean up and it will be just like nothing ever happened".

My Opinion

Have you ever heard or read about anyone committing suicide by cutting their own throat?:banghead:

I just wanted to add for others that may be wondering about the bus station, and if someone else was seen with Maria or Christina. The bus station here is very small. The waiting area about half the size of a convenience store. I can't imagine that they have a lot of people in and out of there. Also where the bus station is has a small parking lot, the car should have been noticed if sitting there for awhile. People going to work at the bus station should have seen it, depending on where it was.

Also, anybody else think it odd that she bought a one way ticket and then asked if she could leave her car at the bus station? She just decided she no longer wanted her vehicle. I guess it would be easier to get around with a baby without a car in a strange place. (Whatever) It would seem to make more sense to leave it at the place she was renting. Also leaving her car at the bus station seem a little to "unsolved mysteries" for me. Like, too set up.

Thanks for the info nnglas, do you know if that bus station has security cameras anywhere? I also find it odd that Maria would make a point about asking if the car was ok if she was abandoning it.

I thought this is what the DA said in the presser, but I wasn't sure I heard right. If this has already been posted, I apologize.

Lauterbach died of "traumatic head injury due to blunt force trauma," according to autopsy results released Tuesday. But authorities said the exam failed to answer all the questions detectives have about Lauterbach's death, including whether she gave birth before her death and of the identity of the father.

The note from Laurean and the note Lauterbach left for her roommate have been sent to a handwriting expert for analysis, Sutherland said.
"We have received that (Lauterbach) note, and it's already been submitted to our crime lab. We don't have anyone here within our department that is an expert at analyzing handwriting," he said.

What if Lauren had maybe created a stNory that he wanted to run away with Maria? He tells her he has family in Mexico and that she should buy a one-way ticket to El Paso.

He tells her he will pick her up in El Paso and that it would look too suspicious if they got on a bus together.

Just a theory.

Another theory . . . I doubt Lauren's wife knew about his upcoming baby. Maybe Maria started threatening to tell her.

It's a fascinating case. The one piece that is weird though is that Maria seemingly ended up in his house ALIVE. Where was the wife and daughter at the time?

In regards to the pregnancy:

My first pregnancy. I had a neg pregnancy test May 25. I know for a fact that my birthdaughter was conceived on April 14 (the only time in 4 months I had sex, or was even NEAR having sex ;) They said my conception date was May 16, 1994. That gave her a due date of Feb 9, 1995.

My birthdaughter was born on Feb 7, 1995, and the nurses and the docs said that it was very apparent that she had gone WAY over the due date, and that the April 14 date, which gave a due date of Jan 19, 1995 was very likely the right one, ummm ya think?

On the other hand, my son, who was conceived on May 24, 1998 and was due on Feb 14th, 1999. (He was induced on Feb 8th, as we were PSC'ing [permanent change of station-military acronym] on Feb 13, 1999.

So, my point with this long posts... you never know. Even with all the newest equipment, you never truly know.

And who would stand there and watch them?

Of course she didn't commit suicide - omg.

It's interesting that she bought a ticket to El Paso, and then he headed for Texas also. It's almost as if he had some bizarre plan to run off to Texas with her and start a new life, and when she wouldn't go along with it he hit her in the head? If he just wanted to kill her, why bother with the bus ticket?

(Sorry SWA - I didn't see your post, and our theories are alot alike - I obviously agree about the bus ticket. I think he was up to something.)

This is a guy who wouldn't leave her alone, and we've seen that type before - remember Scott Peterson and Amber Frey?

Maybe they were both off work early due to the Christmas party that day and he called her and said hey lets meet at the bus station and buy tickets and get out of here together..me and you and our baby...let's run away from it all...once at the bus station he forgets he left his atm card at his house and tells her to go with him to get it so she does.....the rest is history.

I actually believe this is what happened. He probably conned her into believing they would run away together. She buys a one way ticket to El Paso after he explains he has family in Mexico.

He promises he will pick her up in El Paso . . . Maybe she goes to his house after he picks her up. He kills her.

I think we are all getting the same sort of feeling about this El Paso thing. It was either a trick to get her to the house, or he was obsessed and really wanted to run away with her. But like alot of obsessed/sociopathic people, this guy was living in a dream world, and when she got nervous he hit her?

Is anyone else afraid that this guy may be desperate enough to hurt another woman? Or if he needs money, he could be dangerous. I hope they find him soon because he's obviously not in his right mind.

I doubt he wanted to run away with Maria. I think he wanted her out of the equation. The last thing a 21 year old Marine wants to worry about is child support for TWO children.

One for Maria's baby -- and for his current daughter -- It's highly probably his current wife would have divorced him. (I'm assuming she had no idea what was gong on)

These cases a lot of times come down to a support issue.

I still find it funny that he was described as a "MacGyver" type tonight. Would MacGyver have buried a dead body in his backyard?

Yeah . . this guy is brilliant.
