I am searching to see if I can find out where I read it was his van that was abandoned in a park, but so far all I can find is this:

"Hilton already was in federal custody near Atlanta, held on a warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of abandoning property in a national park."

http://www.onlineathens.com/stories/010708/news_20080107029.shtml

Maybe I just assumed the property was his van since I cannot imagine being charged for abandoning anything small with no value. If the van had been left behind and was ticketed and had been there for awhile he may have been charged with leaving it.

Suzie I have posted that question over at Zimbio as there seemed to be a few people who knew him over there.
Hopefully someone, even a neighbour or workmate may be able to recall when he first got the dog.

I saw that, good job frangi!

I wish she had had some sort of personal protection device with her. Maybe she thought Ella was her protection. For all we know, the certificate she is holding with Ella is some kind of advanced canine training. ( I can't read the print well enough to know).

Ella had obtained a "Canine Good Citizen" certificate. A good citizen canine knows how to heel, sit, stay, and comes when called. It is trained to behave well in crowds, to not bark or growl at other dogs, to be good with children and to be friendly even to strangers. It is not trained to protect. :(

Therefore making her culpable to the man who was against untrained dogs.

Hi CC :) I'm not understanding correctly, I think. You said it made her culpable to the man who was against untrained dogs. Culpable to me means "guilty"... how can having a canine good citizen make Meredith guilty to a man who was against untrained dogs (since Ella was trained) ? Enlighten me please because I can't wrap my brain around what you're trying to say....

Below are posts from a discussion between concernedperson, shultzan and I earlier today. Before the COD and decapitation details were released regarding Emerson. Very creepy in hindsight. Another connection to these cases, IMO.

I don't believe it was ever said but her body was not in tact. They identified her from her dentals.

Why have they never released a cause of death in the Dunlap case?

Same reason as the Endres case. Too much decomp and not intact. In fact LE said the killer took steps to conceal Dunlaps identity. BTW, LE early on said no way no connection to Dunlap, but there had been other recent body part discoveries in the area.

He was guilty as to his assigned thoughts. Ella was a good dog not a protective dog. Please don't take anything I have said as against a victim as that is never who I am about.

Or maybe they only found the body. Usually when a killer dismembers a victim, the body parts are usually not kept together.

I have read over at Zimbio that Hilton had TWO white vans.
He may have left one in the National Park and was still using the other. :furious:

From Americas most wanted transcript:
[Host, John Walsh] On June 1st, Lollie's dog was found wandering near Skyland Lodge. Rangers who were already looking for the overdue campers zeroed in on the area and quickly made the gruesome discovery.

Sorry, I could not log on for a while as it was too busy, so I have obviously missed it.

So does anyone really believe that Cayle Bywater isn't connect as LE told the family? The only thing holding me back on a connection is that unless Hilton became a spree killer, Bywater went missing only three days before Merideth did. Other than that, Bywater was a dog lover. Was with her dog at a dog park the day she went missing. No indication that Bywater was going to take-off.

Snipped from the below link:

http://www.onlineathens.com/stories/010408/news_20080104055.shtml

Katie Sims told police she found Bywater's purse, cell phone and other belongings on her car, parked outside her house, where the basement door was open and Bywater's dog was running loose outside, according to police.
