If you watch the original 48 hours doc you will see they stayed pretty busy. I believe a pyhcic was brought in, Terot cards were being read, some hypnosis was being used, and a lie detector machine was running 24-7. So it's not like they were just sitting on their hands Mule. Also, you have to keep in mind that the lead detective had his hands full with some goats he was raising.

There's only so much that can be done Mule. So I guess it's time to box this stuff up and take to the basement. I would like to say that everyone here has done a great job.

Thanks for sharing.
Not sure what you're saying here??

I think I may have asked once before so please forgive me if you've already answered & I didn't remember, but what is your connection to this case? I haven't been around for very long so am still learning who's who. Thanks!

Well, I brought actionable information directly to the police station of a possible suspect. The officer in the 48 hour program came to the front desk where I provided an actual mug shot of a plausible suspect. He was accompanied by the chief of police.

Not too long thereafter I contacted them with additional information. At that time I was informed I was “interfering” with the investigation.

This was the same officer I had provided the mug shot.

I found this so disturbing that I went to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s office on Kearney Street, and discussed the matter. He said he did not understand why that happened. He also told me said the SPD asked they not offer assistance as they had everything under control. No other officer I have spoken to can offer an rationale.

Officer Mark Webb, who I believe, was one of the top detectives who worked the case. He was seen in the 48 Hour program. He later said this case was a “career ender.” He was alleged to have wanted to investigate the grave robber matter but was steered away from doing that from my understanding.

The latest and best best information I have seen is that there is good reason to run that to ground the matter of the grave robbers, especially the third one. Some believe he may have been a confidential police source. My recollection he was not in the area at that time but was back in Illinois. The other two were but one’s sister provided their alibis.

He was brought back to Springfield for questioning. Supposedly he was cleared of involvement. When he went back to Illinois he took what is said to be using his mother’s maiden name. (I believe this is correct.). A little odd, in my opinion.

The motive could have conceivably been to protect him. I am also of the view there was a drug connection to the case, not necessarily related to him. How and who were or were involved are not known, by myself. Of course the rumor mill is working overtime to the present day.

Fluteforpiece, my only connection to this case is comming by here to try and give you guys a hand to try and solve it. I'm just a member here at webslueths, and I have never been to MO in my life. The only thing I know is what I have read. If you read my post you'll see that there are several other threads that I have been helping out on besides this one.

I'm sorry if I mislead you into thinking that I could be some sort of magical insider that could provide you guys with some secret answers. That was certainly never my intentions. I'm just trying to help out the best I can from reading post and news articles about the case.

This is very interesting information Missouri Mule regarding the information you brought to the police and their response.

I always had the feeling that the acquaintance of Suzie and the grave robbers was
the cause of this crime, maybe they did it and even if they didn't then maybe people who the grave robbers were familiar with committed the crime.
I also believe that there is A drug connection.
I think the grave robbers know much more than they said.

I'm curious. Has it been ever reported on the record what those closest to the three think what happened? Like has Janelle ever stated what SHE thinks who/what happened? Brad the brother? Even the friend that Ms Levitt was talking on the phone with that very night. If my Mom and brother just vanished from their home under mysterious circumstances I'd prob have some inkling about what could had happened. A good hunch; something.

The son/brother Brad used to have a blog or webpage up about the missing women. He discussed some of the suspects that LE were focused on. IIRC, he agreed with them about some of the possible perps they considered. My impression is that he is relying on their judgment and agrees with the suspects on their list. Poor guy has put up with a lot over the years.

I can't even imagine the sorrow that Bart Streeter feels more than 25 years,
losing a mother and a sister , knowing that something horrible happened to them
and there is still no closure or justice after so many years for Bart and Stacy's parents.

Another detail of this case I have yet to come across was an account of the friend Ms Levitt was speaking with on the phone that night. Some articles state the call took place around 11:30 that night. I know it was Sat night but that still does seem rather late to just be having a phone chat? I'm sure LE has the details of that phone exchange. Just seems perhaps more was said between the two than is being disclosed.

You know, there are so many details about that night that are known....and yet so much is still left to the imagination.

Something has always puzzled me....please take 30 seconds and watch part of the Disappeared episode, start at 12 min 23 sec and watch to 12 min 53 sec.

https://youtu.be/bXD4cHvoyZ4

Mrs. McCall is said to have accidentally erased a valuable message left on the answering machine. She says she forgot what was said, but LE specifically separates this message from the prank calls Janelle recieved, saying the two are likely unrelated.

How does that make sense? Want to know what I think? I think maybe the content of the machine was actually played back to LE or at the very least, Mrs. McCall was able to give a detailed account of what was on the machine, and LE has a strategic reason for Mrs. McCall to not share with the public.

I know details are often withheld from the public if it could jeopardize the investigation, but it seems strange to me the message is mentioned at all....am I making sense?

"(the message) somehow got deleted"..... I totally agree I think I do sense some plausible deniability. Most people say who they are when they leave a message, right? If she was playing the phone messages in desperation to get an idea where her daughter might be I'd think she would have listened carefully to that message (and others) and only to remember that "it was a man"? Good observation.

As was said a few pages back a graverobber is a sick individual with mental issues, thats somebody capable of murder with motivation. I dont see a guy selling some marijuanna or cocaine at teen parties as motive. I don't see it as necessarily evidence of dark behavior either just young adults making stupid choices to make a few bucks.

Given the social circles and girls social life wouldnt their friends also know this person sold drugs?
The idea they stumbled in some major drug operation thats killing witnesses when nobody can definitely even confirm any of the 3mw ever did drugs sounds out of a fictional movie.

Now I can see the perp being a user or low level dealer but I dont see silencing one of the girls as possible as the motivation. I dont think preemptive retaliation or precautionary silencing happens unless we're talking mob, cartels, feds, police pressure.

A dealer is networking their products and you're going to turn around and kill your customers or acquaintance because they know you sell drugs? This isnt like the graverobbing where Suzee was in the process of being on the witness stand. Nor is selling drugs like graverobbing in that a person could be doing it without people knowing.

I also dont read much into Suzee wanting a friend. Maybe she wanted to have a sleepover after a fun night not to go home to a boring night alone. Or I could see her wanting a buffer with mother who she's moved away from twice.

Another 125 pound teenage girl isnt really much added protection.
It was already going to be her and her mother, not her alone. If she feared it would also have to be minor to where she didnt call the cops or repeat what her fears were. But was just frightened enough to ask friends to be there. The friend also would have to be comfortable being there for whatever this threat was. I mean if it really was her going around begging for company Id want to know why.

I just see a tispy girl saying "Hey cmon lets have a sleepover!" or "my moms driving me crazy come home with me.
I cant see "hey Im afraid can you come with me and spend the night". I dont see Suzee asking that without the friends inquiring about why and knowing more then they do. Id want to know what situation I was getting dragged into or for the well being of my friend. Doesn't seem like something you could dance around.

Lots of behavior analysis and eliminating without a theory but thats where I seem to end up with this case.. lol

Its probably just a reference to Sherrill being the sort of person who kept a tidy house and it being out of character for her to leave mess uncleared, but still worth bearing in mind.

I read in another thread:
St. Louis Post-Dispatch*
June 14, 1992
"A smashed porch light at the house was found to have been broken previously."

The responses were talking under the assumption it was broken and left foe a while until found. I also can see that meaning the light broke before the night of the crime at least once.

Another thing Ive been considering what if the perp had keys (previous owner, close close friend family) went in the carport door or back door and abducted them completely by surprise. To make it not obvious they broke the front globe to say "LOOK I CAME IN HERE AT THE FRONT AND THERE WAS A STRUGGLE.. CONCENTRATE HERE" Also leaving the front door unlocked.

You are absolutely right: some information is being withheld by the auhorities. Also, the whole stuff about the deleting of these message is strange and has never made sense. Information seems to be blurred and incomplete.

I dont think the investigators understood very well what facts to withhold so we just ended up with a jumbled mess of information. I dont believe its better then it looks from the outside, maybe worse.

The news also reported that a man phoned in a tip to AMW, but when the AMW, operator tried to transfer the call to the springfield police; the call got disconnected.

According to the Springfield police, the man had prime information about the 3MW?

Now out of all the calls that AMW would have received, how would they know that this man had prime information about the case ?

Ibiz, I always wondered why the caller never called back, as far as we know....equal points being made though about deleted messages and dropped calls, but somehow LE knew they contained valuable information. I just hope if LE is hanging on to information not released to the public, I hope at least Bart and Mrs. McCall are in the loop and can have some kind of closure.

The man may have been drunk when he called AMW. After sobering up he may have had change of hart.

Makes sense, why knock off repeat customers? (In no way am I suggesting any of the women were 'users')

And same here in also noting Susie seemed 'desperate' for company, the way I understand it, she started asking people early on in the evening. At first she complained of not feeling well and wanted company (due to not feeling well). I do wonder if Stacy hadn't been so 'nice'...would she be alive today?

In one of the early videos one of the officers made a comment concerning Susie and wanting to 'belong'. Could this issue have had something to do with her disappearance, LE actually mentioned it. He also held up (in the video) a photo of Susie and mentioned it was a bit 'racy' and they wondered where the photo was taken.

Remember, it was 1992, the definition of 'racy' is our 'ultra conservative' today.

Pardon if this has been already posted/mentioned but I wasn't aware that Crime Watch Daily released a story last Fall. One tidbit I wasn't aware of is that Suzzee had in her room several books on Satanism. Too me that would indicate a much deeper involvement with the "graverobber(s)". There is also more elaboration by Ms McCall regarding the phone messages:
