Why bother hiding behind dumpsters when he knew full well his image would be captured on camera???

Why do you think he "knew full well his image would be captured on camera"? Not being snarky, just wondering if I missed something along the way, as imo he didn't think it would be.

What was the quality of the video showing SM using the payphone?
The quality was very bad. Ironically if SM hadn't admitted he made the phone call to Heather from that payphone, the state would not have been able to prove it was him based on the quality of that video. Police told SM there was video of the phone call being made at that pay phone and he admitted it after first lying to them. (Thanks Sid). Always love it when the perp shoots him/herself in the foot.

So does anyone know the times of the IE charges? I'm sure the State attorney already looked into all of that, but seeing where the 2nd one was is very interesting now that we heard about Heather's phone being at Longbeards.

Very interesting. Agree with your thoughts on their demented reasoning too.

I removed the part about the Disney trip because I think that came right after HE went missing. I bet the Disney Trip was their celebration trip that they didn't have to worry about HE anymore. Its pretty confusing all the actions they took.

Thanks for clarifying. It appears that the existence of the video caused SM to tell the truth about using the payphone. The video was useful in that regard.

They did a trip right before Heather went missing too. I think out west - I believe they planned to kill her on that trip.

So the camera footage means nothing.

No, I think it matters but the quality isn't a factor because SM admitted it was him. I'm sure he regrets that now.

I'm sure he does because you can't tell it's him. I'd have to watch again to see if his clothing gives it away because of what we saw on the Walmart video.

Oh. I see. I had thought there was a trip right before too. They took so many actions around that time that it is obvious things were going on with them.

I wish the person that was their spy would come forward and tell all. TM had mentioned she had someone tailing SM and his actions. Whoever their spy was could probably provide LE a lot of information. I don't know how any of them live with themselves.

I gave up years ago on trying to understand how the mind of a murderer works...especially a psychopath or a narcissist. They don't think or feel like the rest of us do. And they don't think they're risking anything because they don't think they'll get caught. That the Moorers shut off phones, hid behind dumpsters to use a pay phone, did their deed in the middle of the night, removed surveillance cameras and removed data from the truck data 'module' proves to me IMO that they thought they covered their tracks and wouldn't get caught.

I think the state did an excellent job proving their case. It's more than enough for me anyway to convict them. We'll see if it's enough for 12 people in the next trial.

These are great thoughts - thank you. I am so relieved he is being tried again.

Totally unrelated but I want to share. My family was involved in a lawsuit and the Judge was a friend. She removed herself from the trial because of that relationship and the appearance it would have made. IMO Judge Markley should have done the same. It shows his true character and how self-serving he is, otherwise why would he not do this? He tries hundreds of cases a year - why not move on??
Now we all know who he is. Nobody knew he was before. Could you imagine him presiding over TM's trial and the two of them exchanging outbursts until he throws her butt in jail?

Interesting that the State skipped all phone data from November 2013. Trial Day 3.

They provided text messages from the beginning of November and then there was no contact between the two until Dec 18th.

You're correct. I was referring to the part of trial were Nancy skipped over November when expert witness was testifying to the total number of calls between Heather and SM for each month.

In November 2013, there were 2 multi-media messages sent on the 2nd.

Calls to SM - 22
Calls from SM - 39

Please tell me that Judge Dennis won`t be allowed to sit in on this new trial. If he is, this trial won`t be any better than the last one. I hope that the state can get him off of this case. He already has proven just how biased he really is. That petition to have him removed must have meant nothing. All he does is tell stories and throws his weight around. And another thing while I am at it......how many other judges shakes hands with the defendants. That to me tells a story in itself.
