Had me really wondering if she was pregnant. And I'm assuming we can now talk about that since it's been said in the trial.

Remember how we looked at earlier pictures of HE, and contrasted them with the photo of her driving the truck with the stick shift that last night?

I always suspected a possible pregnancy was the tipping point for TM.

She may have taken another pregnancy test at home and Bri knows about that one. Being pregnant sure would send TM over the edge and SM would have really been freaked too.

The sex photos could have also been taken at other times, not judging but probably not a good idea to have those on your phone. All of LE has probably seen them. Just gross.

They said she took a digital pregnancy test. Here's an example from the EPT pregnancy test insert of the error message, which is a little book.

I think she was pregnant. JMO but I'm not sure if we will hear confirmation from Bri (tomorrow I assume) or not but being a female of childbearing age who shared everything with friends (and especially BFFs) if HE knew, someone else did too. JMO

I agree. If she told her supervisor at work about a scare surely she told someone if she actually was.

If she was pregnant maybe the call from SM was to beg her to keep it as a setup? But maybe she'd already terminated given her renewed optimism about life a moving on? Maybe we don't know everything she and Bri talked about that night? It would male some things make sense.

What is the max SM would get if convicted of the kidnap charge?

From what I have seen and read the max in SC is 30 years.

Poor LE, those images will always be with them. Not enough bleach in this world...

Phew - just caught up...thank you all so much for the detailed recounting - I was unable to follow along today (that kind of day!)

I read somewhere that most jurors actually make up their mind during opening remarks. I know that was true when I sat on a criminal trial once - I had made up my mind before the opening comments ended...though I paid close attention throughout the trial and was willing to change my mind, I didn't see or hear anything that dissuaded me from my original gut feeling on that first day.

So for those of you that listened to both attys opening remarks - who do you think (honestly) articulated the most compelling case?

I thought the state made a more compelling argument. Their opening argument was very deliberate and layed out the case. While circumstantial, I found it to be compelling. The defense seemed to meander, talking about the justice system in Afghanistan.

Agreed. Truslow made some comment when he first got up about prosecutors and long opening statements and then went 2x as long as the prosecution. I might have misunderstood what he said though. He did bring up irrelevant and nonsensical comparisons. Afghanistan? Really bro?

If a Judge calls the kidnapping of my daughter a "dispute" I would be livid. I've never heard of such.

I hope we get to hear from Bri tomorrow.

The testimony of Bri and the photos were two Motions the defense withdrew last week:

Motion: SM prohibit “the introduction of certain evidence,” including staged photographs of the Ms posing with a firearm while on vacation; statements made by TM, in any form, to or about Heather Elvis or the Elvis family; all communication between SM and TM; all photographs explicit in nature obtained from the Ms; and other prejudicial and non-probative evidence.

Motion: SM wants to throw out “any evidence of hearsay statements purported to have been made by Heather Elvis,” including the testimony of Elvis’ former roommate, BW. On Dec. 18, 2013, the day Elvis was last heard from, SM spoke to Elvis from a payphone at Mr. Joe White Avenue in Myrtle Beach for more than four minutes.

I also thought the state's opening statement was more compelling. I don't know why Truslow was making comparisons to Afghanistan. Sounds like he is targeting his mostly male demographic jury with deflect deflect deflet. Let us hope the SC males ( and females for that matter) on this jury are smarter than that.

I wonder why the state wouldn't release the number of pay phone calls she made until now.

Those disgusting pictures they sent Heather take the evil to a whole other level. When I think about his interviews and the things that he's done, it gives me the chills. I never thought I'd say it, but I think he's more evil that his vile partner. They should both be locked away forever. Their kids must be living in hell. I can't imagine the things they've heard and seen over the past few years.
