If it did take place somewhere else, there should be witnesses to seeing Misty away from the home WITH the children, hearing/seeing her leave/return with the children, and indications from neighbors no one was at the home during the time she was gone (lights off, no vehicles, no sounds).

We don't know whether or not LE has such witnesses.

I don't care what her statement was about JO and it being when she was younger. If he was in town, it could have happened during that time. It could be her way of telling them there was a problem without telling them when. Why would she say anything at all about him if he had nothing to do with this? Why bring him up at all? Makes no sense unless she isn't the one who brought him up.

IMHO nothing about this case is making sense. LOL. Sorry to laugh but I'm so boggled I am dizzy.

If they do have such witnesses, they would have a second location. Evidently, they do not. To my knowledge, no other SWs have been served on another location.

I have wondered MANY times if it actually took place somewhere else.

Me too...as in when her brother was there they could have left with the kids in the van, and the blanket too for that matter, and gone somewhere else where something happened. After that time, we have the main inconsistencies begin. Grandma's visit not mentioned, then coming out of nowhere to "witness" Haleigh and RJ at home. Then add in the staged door, the blanket washing story, the bathroom, drink, Haleigh got up, Misty got up etc.

My worst vision is Haleigh somewhere wrapped in the misssing blanket as a result of anger, abuse, or accident. After that point, they could stage an abduction and blame the cousin that Misty already has reason to hate and with whom Ron recently had an altercation.

Again, we don't know what information LE has. We can speculate, but we don't know.

Well, I dunno but there have been interviews with Misty's parents and TN in which they cast the blame at the cousin (omg we trusted him, we let him in at our homes etcetera). If one was in a suspicious mood, those interviews could be interpreted as a smokescreen to protect their children and throw the focus of the suspicions further away from the immediate family.

She would have been in a location in or near Satsuma, imo. It is a small community and if people said she was in another location...LE would have served a SW on the home. Someone would have seen them and we would know.

  • #470
If grandma S. is lying about the visit, why isn't LE attacking her with a full court press?

  • #471
Possibly the location was not a home.

  • #472
OK say it wasn't a home...they would have a second location and not leave that location until they had some answers. If the home is not the crime scene and they have placed her via witnesses at a second location (even outside somewhere)...they would have converged on the second location and worked out from there.

Again, we don't know what LE has. We don't know if a second location was involved. If there was one, we don't know if it was near Satsuma, if was an occupied residence, if the location was actually a vehicle, etc, etc. We don't know. We can speculate, but we won't know until either LE speaks out and/or documents are released under the Sunshine Law.

Taking all of the extraneous information from Misty's ealry statements, the heart of this mystery boils down to:

1.cleaning
2.washing
3.urine on a blanket
4.a blanket in a van
5. musical beds

Add that to Ron's extraneous and oft repeated:

"I was at work."

One gives the clues to the incident--the other provides an alibi. JMO

ETA: Misty's alibi is: I was sleeping.

They have had something like 2500 tips, I believe. That's plenty to include several sightings of Haleigh and Misty or some people looking vaguely like them in several different places. I don't envy LE their job.

I don't know if I can buy the idea of Grandma Sykes lying about the visit to protect Misty if she killed or accidentally killed Haleigh. Haleigh is kin, Misty was just a fairly new "grandgirlfriend", I think she'd have been on Haleigh's side. Maybe she could have lied to protect Ron, if he is somehow implicated in the disappearance, but not just Misty, IMO.

Again, it would be very difficult for that many LE agents to converge on any location and go unnoticed by people in or around the community. LE doesn't have to tell us as someone else would!

It was reported early on that Crystal was taken to an abandoned house. LE didn't tell us this yet we still heard about it!

I am not going to sit around and wait for LE to tell us squat! Frankly, I don't think they HAVE anything. Dead end. Cold case here we come. Brick wall. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Botched the case. I could go on and on.

Looks like it is time for Ms. Misti to lawyer up. I do believe LE is getting ready to make a move on her. They have now publically announced that she is not cleared as a suspect, contrary to Ron's statement yesterday morning on the Today Show. LE is also claiming that Misti is "inconsistent."

I hope the new PI can help to move this case forward somehow.

Why tip their hand ?
Tip their hand?! Because we have a little girl who is still missing and they have no clue what happened to her. If they believe grandma S. is lying, she should have been brought in more times than Misty for LDTs and interviews as to why she would lie about seeing them at that time.

Well, who's to say that people didn't notice? There's been plenty of coverage of LE doing searches in new locations lately, and while they didn't say it was due to a specific tip, it might be. We don't know.

You may be right though. With a month gone, it doesn't look good about Haleigh being found any time soon and without her it may be as LE says: they have no firm evidence what the crime is so they can't charge anybody of any crime.
