AMBER Alert (missing children) for Minnesota

On 6-7-2019 at approximately 06:34 AM Jeffrey Lo assaulted the mother of his two children and left the scene in the mother's mini-van with the children. The mini-van is a 2004 Toyota Sierra MN license plate 708XEM tan in color. Jeffrey Lo is described as an Asian male, 5' 5" 180 lbs. with brown eyes. The children are Asian females ages 1 and 3. Clothing description unknown.

Update (9:43 a.m.): The Cottage Grove Police Department said they are no longer looking for the minivan, but they are continuing to look for the suspect and the two girls.

The woman's brother tells KSTP that Lo hit her with the butt of a gun and left with the children, driving across the family's lawn. The brother said the woman has been taken to a Woodbury hospital.

Her condition is unknown.

The brother also provided a photo of the children.

Lo is described as being 5 feet-5, weighing roughly 180 pounds, and having brown eyes.

Authorities said a clothing description for the two girls is unknown.

The BCA reported Lo is armed. They advised those who see him to not approach him and instead to call 911 immediately.

This is where I live! Very low crime area and quiet neighborhood. Shocked me when I first saw the AMBER alert. CG is ~35K people so not a huge city but it's all over our local social media groups I'm in. Didn't know this guy or the family but so glad the kids are safe.

Wow that's crazy. I literally was at Oakwood this morning around 5 AM before this happened. There is an Anytime Fitness across the street from it where I work out. Oakwood is a smaller park that is near our high school. There are apartment and townhome complexes on the opposite side of it. It's relatively close to Highway 61 which is the highway that feeds into 494 which is our major cross-state highway - at least in the Twin Cities suburbs or 94 which connects MN to other states.

If he was in the Oakwood Park area, he would've been less than two minutes from the freeway and about five from the interchange where you can go east or west on 494 to go across the state or 94 which takes you into the St. Paul/Minneapolis area.

These little girls are such cuties, and they look like two peas in a pod. Such a blessing to all when children are rescued and safe.

Daddy needs to stay away from these little darlings. He has only himself to thank for the situation he is in.

Having a gun with him puts this on a whole different level. Prison until youngest child reaches her majority would be nice. Let them grow up without fear. Let mom raise them without fear, always watching .,. watching .. waiting for the next episode. When will it happen, and how will it end.

The father accused of abducting his children, sparking an Amber Alert on Friday, was hiding in the back of the family van as his estranged wife took them to daycare.

Jeffrey Lo, 24, commandeered the van at 6:30 a.m. Friday in Cottage Grove, emerging from the back of the van and pistol-whipping his wife in the face as she backed out of her parents' driveway.

Lo's wife managed to escape and raise the alarm, running to the car behind and alerting the driver.

According to a criminal complaint, the mother – with the aid of the following driver – tried to follow Lo as he sped away with their two children, aged 1 and 3.

It prompted an Amber Alert shortly after, with the children deemed at serious risk of harm given that Lo was in possession of a gun.

He was eventually found clutching to his unharmed children under some bushes in Hidden Valley Lane, Cottage Grove, about four hours later.

It emerged that the relationship between Lo and his wife had ended 2-3 months ago after they'd been together for five years, with Lo's wife getting full custody of their kids.
