The same thing has been on my mind. Was ICE just cruising randomly looking to profile or create chaos - bc that is what it appeared to me looking a the video's. So many video's - if they were chasing a bad guy - why isn't that out there on tape somewhere. Hot pursuit gets peoples attention .

From what I understand, agents were chasing someone but they ran into a shop. The shop owner closed and locked the door before ICE got there and then would not allow entrance without a warrant. ICE told the shop owners they would be getting that warrant and calling more agents while they wait.

My opinion is that the agents were angry at this which is why they were being aggressive with the people who began whistling and documenting.

I have seen statements made by a witness who was in the Glam Donut Shop, describing employees locking the door preventing ICE from capturing their target. Interestingly enough, as far as I know the donut shop employees are still living, even tho they apparently actively impeded, hampered, obstructed, and interfered with the agents in their targeted operation.

I think the strong backlash from just about all sectors is because of the lies that were told about the shooting of Alex Pretti.

If the shooting of Alex Pretti had been handled differently and the victim not immediately blamed for being shot 10 times after being pepper-sprayed, tackled, and pinned to the ground, I think the feds would be receiving support or at least silence from their usual supporters, not widespread condemnation. imo

Finding justification for the shooting of Alex Pretti is too far for most people. imo

The outrage started before we heard from them. Anyone with eyes could watch the videos and see what was happening and I think we all knew what the powers that be would say. Then the outrage increased tenfold. There was absolutely no reason for any of this to happen. Throwing the woman to the ground was not necessary. Alex was an innocent victim in all of this as well. There was no reason to shoot him once, let alone ten or eleven times.

Remember all the campaign against George Floyd? It didn’t reach the goal because regardless of who Floyd was, and his prior history, a policeman, Chauvin, had no legal right to treat him like it.

And later, it led to lots of protests that shook the country, and good cops also took the blame, and were defunded, and I doubt that any of them supports Chauvin.

This situation is very different, politically, but I doubt that any of the group who killed Pretti is going to be promoted for it.

All those involved in killing of Alex Pretti need to be known, the contents of Pretti’s phone have to be given to his family, it was his intellectual property, and if the DSHS extends immunity to his executioners, then Minnesota will decide what to do.

The confusing thing to me is about the face covers. ICE is not new profession/dept - around for a long while - but wearing the face covers is new. What gives?

Some say its for their own protection - so they don't get "doxxed" - I don't get that either.
All Law enforcement has a job -I don't know any other division that wears the neck gaiters over their faces.

I've yet to hear an explanation that makes sense to me.

I think all LE should wear ID and have no face coverings. They are supposed to the ones to keep us safe - we should know who they are. Unless of course undercover.

When I look at the footage I see a man go to help a woman who's been shoved. I then see him pepper sprayed, beaten up and shot to death.

But some people are seeing people getting in the way of LE trying to apprehend violent criminals. That is what the job of ICE is supposed to be, isn't it?

Could we all try and step back and realise that neither of these two perspectives is 100% incorrect, and that people seeing it from the other side are not bad people?

There isn't a "both sides" here. Maybe this will help you understand what happened just prior to ICE killing Pretti. There is no excuse, no justification for his brutal murder. NONE.

The president has made new remarks today about the shooting and he is apparently now against the 2nd amendment to the Constitution. That’s a very interesting stance given his base.

I think the gun laws are governed by the states? Not the federal govt, and not the president.

One of the things that unsettles me the most is how often people fall back on legality as if it settles the question. “Agents are just enforcing the law,” and “They shouldn’t have intervened.” Those phrases scare me.

Slavery was legal. Jim Crow was legal. Japanese internment was legal. The Nuremberg Laws were legal. Law does not protect morality. It reflects power.

What history judges is not whether something was legal, but whether people were willing to treat other human beings as expendable because the system told them it was acceptable.
