This is her opinion, speculation, boosted by a guy on social media (Webb). Saying agents "decided to just scatter to save themselves" is guesswork. IMO

She's a witness who was feet away from this horror. It's odd to fixate on "decided to scatter and save themselves" --critical of what she saw and felt, which is accurate. I saw the same thing viewing the video. I would use less friendly terms to describe their scattering. JMO

I mean, I am not even an eyewitness and from the videos Ive seen, the agents did scatter. Several of practically ran away from the scene, it’s right there in video. None of them administered aid to Alex, as they kept him turned on his side which is not CPR protocol. If that’s the protocol of what they are supposed to do after shooting someone, I’d say there needs to be a major change in their training. IMO.

I agree that her comments about what the agents were thinking are opinion and speculative. Given the reason why she was at the scene, I’d take it with a dose of skepticism. imo

Moo..are there other countries that deal with their people this way? The things I did not understand was why person was pushed, and then then the spray. Worst thing for me to watch was the guy just bashing him...I don't think that's legal. Hate to see how they treat those they do arrest

Yes, a supposed law enforcement officer violently shoves a non-violent woman down to the ground. A caring non-violent man moves to help the woman up off the ground. All this done on slippery, snowy ground right next to a vehicle. The man is grabbed, pulled and sprayed with pepper spray in his face from less that a foot away. While he continues to hold onto the woman trying to get to her feet, who ultimately has to scoot on her bottom away from the agent and pepper spray, the helpful man is torn away from her and jumped on by numerous agents. Thrown down to the ground, the man is now bludgeoned in his face with a large pepper spray metal canister. The man is on his knees, bent over forward, his arms being held on both sides. Almost at the same time the non-violent man is disarmed from behind of his legal carry gun. A BP agent scurries away with that gun as the prone non-violent man is shot in the back, by two agents, 10 times. That's what I see in reviewing the videos, MO

That whole scenario is not a professional LE action. It looked more like an attack, a mugging by a gang of criminals to me. AJMO

Yup, yup. Agree 100%. Jonathon Ross also didn't administer aid to Renee and made the "wrap it up" motion with his hand. That's who we're dealing with. Luckily there are eye witnesses and video for both. The physician eye witness to Alex's murder confirmed they didn't attempt CPR. And others have said they were rifling through his pockets and counting bullet woulds (pink lady coat eyewitness). Barbaric and disgusting.

You don’t have to take her word for it, it’s in sworn witness testimony that no one was able to render aid at first to Mr Pretti (they did finally let this physician in to help) and that the agents themselves did not render aid to him, as they kept him on his side instead of moving him to his back and starting CPR. It’s all right here in the official testimony they gave.

I would actually agree with you, I don’t think random people should be able to enter a crime scene to render aid in normal situations. However, the agents themselves weren’t doing it, and didn’t seem able or willing to do it, and it seems they realized it was an extremely grave situation since he was shot 10+ times so they eventually allowed the physician to assist.

If this is ICE protocol, it's completely wrong and broken. They can't be trusted with guns, let's have them carry tasers instead, and take off their masks, wear name badges with ID numbers.

speaking of vetting, I would be most curious to know more about the vetting and training of the masked federal agents. My understanding is that they have been rushed into duty due to the increased demand of this administration's mission and that their training time has been greatly reduced due to that demand.

We've seen earlier in the thread video from a woman who applied to see what the process is like, but I would be most interested in hearing from the agency itself what training new agents receive and how it may or may not differ from what new agents received during previous administrations. Particularly what their training was concerning de-escalation since in the past two MN fatal shooting incidents seen on video there seemed to be little or no de-escalation. In fact I saw activities that seem clear to me were instances of Escalation on the part of agents.

ETA not that it would have mattered in the case of Renee Good because the agent who killed her was a veteran of many years, which is discouraging MOO, since I would have hoped his training and years of experience would have given him better tools.

Agree. Many many stories out there recently that make clear the profoundly compassionate and thoughtful actions of so many in MN and elsewhere in light of the activities/ assaults within their communities and neighbourhoods. Here's hoping that extends to whatever the "de-escalation" portends and to the (hopefully honest and full-throated) investigations that follow.

Though I read this morning of a strain amongst a subset of influencers claiming that even neighbourly compassion "imperils critical thinking" and is antithetical to specific cultural/ political projects. Egads.

They've also increased daily arrest quotas. ICE’s tactics draw criticism as it triples daily arrest targets
