My opinion... the totality of the situation will be considered. Who can predict their behavior in an escalated situation? I know war vets, combat vets, LE both active and retired. Who can say how a person will respond if they feel their life is on the line? Whether "I" think it was or not, in my opinion, legally speaking, doesn't matter, nor does what "I" see in a video. In my opinion investigators and legal experts in this case will surely look at the totality of circumstances and also will seek to determine the answer to the question...what was the agents perception at the time?

They escalated the situation by pushing, pepper spraying and eventually killing.

if his actions weren't suicidal, (mod edit no name calling) IMO. so which do you want to believe? saving this country requires both the red and the blue to wake up and see that the fighting is artificial, manufactured by the rich elite to keep the status quo, maintaining their wealth at any costs- even if civil war MOO. Apparently I am open minded enough to allow the investigation to suggest suicide or homicide, without being personally offended. I love this site, and everyone's honest opinions.

Was Christ suicidal?

Was Giordano Bruno suicidal?

Was any person in history, there are many, who decided to stand for his truth, without waiting for a big group to get together, suicidal?

What about the "pink coat" who continued videotaping after 10 bullets were shot into Pretti's body? Was she suicidal?

I doubt that it was about saving his country, even.

It was about saving his city and the life that he knew and loved, methinks.

I'm hopeful that there are some others that might be saved by having an understanding of this very sentence....though I'd edit it back to my original thought, in my opinion, he'd be alive today if he had not inserted himself into the situation. The entire situation is much more than the individual incident. It's political. It's social. It's personal. It's already escalated to prior violence and death. It wasn't just the incident with the woman. It's my opinion he obviously either sought out or went directly to that location with a purpose. There is evidence already in existence this was not his first encounter, said evidence posted on this thread. Was his presence legal? Yes. Was his carry of a firearm legal? Yes. Did he exercise poor judgement considering the totality of the circumstances? In my opinion, yes.

But this is the way authoritarian governments work - don't cause us any trouble, or the consequence could be anything up to and including death.

I get that they have a professional duty to tread a line between both sides. But.......the situation would have been avoided if they had simply walked away when they lost their quarry in the donut shop, rather than choosing to assault people doing nothing more than exercising their constitutional rights.

Arrests of journalists and “violence” inflicted by ICE is fueling massive protests, Minnesota lt. gov says​

The arrests of former CNN anchor Don Lemon and independent journalist Georgia Fort in connection to a Minnesota church protest earlier this month were “chilling” in the context of their First Amendment rights, the state’s Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan told CNN.

“This is our democracy on the line, and what is happening in Minnesota can come to your town and we have to do everything we can to lift our voices to stop it,” said Flanagan, who added the state had no information beforehand about the arrests of the two journalists who have since been released.

Those arrests, along with the fear, chaos and “violence that ICE agents are inflicting on our community” is fueling tens and thousands of people to show up for protests across the country today, Flanagan added.

White House border czar Tom Homan said this week he had ordered federal immigration authorities to work on a drawdown plan for law enforcement in Minnesota. When asked about how the reality of that plan is playing out in the state, Flanagan said, “I think they’re playing musical chairs with Bovino, Homan and Kristi Noem,” adding it doesn’t seem to be the plan for President Donald Trump.

IMO experts in the field are speaking out because this reflects poorly on the profession as a whole. That it's not the norm, not what they are taught.

To our knowledge, there is no information or report of any kind to support speculation that Alex was suicidal or had, at any time, exhibited suicidal ideation.

Had he wanted "suicide by cop" you can, for example, point your firearm at LE and basically dare them to shoot you. Or, you can do a jig in the middle of the road while firing your own weapon into the air or wildly into the crowd, etc etc

No need to bring your own gun, but if you do, you don't have it secured in its holster, and hope that some lady will randomly get pushed down beside you so you can bend down to help her and hope "okay now for sure they'll shoot me".

All my personal opinion.
