I have to wonder how many others have gone missing under similar circumstances and have never been found. My guess is there are quite a few. Terrible.
“CHASKA — Two men and a woman face criminal charges in Carver County for allegedly concealing the body of a Gustavus Adolphus College student after he overdosed.

Joseph Anthony Cruz, 38, of Hamburg; Rachel Diane Nadeau, 36, of St. Louis Park; and Taylor Warren Janke, 26, of New Ulm; who were all charged Thursday in Carver County District Court, were reportedly with Sarlis before he died.
Nadeau and Janke told investigators the four were at Cruz’s apartment the morning of Sept. 15 when Sarlis snorted what appeared to be heroin, according to charging documents. Janke said he saw Sarlis slumped over in a bed still breathing afterward, but he and Nadeau later realized he was dead.
Nadeau reportedly took the $160 Sarlis had taken out of an ATM earlier and left to go to a bar with Janke. Cruz, who had left for work earlier but was informed of the body via text, came home to find Sarlis on the floor in a spare bedroom.

Police found the body, wrapped in layers of tarp, a shower curtain and a sleeping bag, in a portable crib.
Janke said he returned to Cruz’s apartment the next day, and the two tried to place the portable crib in a car to dispose of the body. The crib wouldn’t fit, so they brought the body back inside, according to the criminal complaint.
Carver County Sheriff’s Office deputies tracked down the trio after noticing five of Sarlis’ last six phone calls were to Nadeau. They found video of Nadeau and Sarlis using an ATM at the Bank of Hamburg on Sept. 15.

The St. Peter Police Department also received two anonymous tips saying ‘Joey from Hamburg’ knew where Sarlis’ body was. Investigators noticed a ‘Joseph Cruz’ was friends with Nadeau on Facebook and took Cruz into custody on outstanding arrest warrants.
