Good that Anne's story is back in the news, albeit unsolved.
I've lived in the Twin Cities for years and recall the supposed abduction from the Mall of America. Honestly, from the time this mall opened, the husband's story has been suspect, since he suggested that's where Anne was going. The parking lots are very open and very well-used. There is always someone around. Never have I felt unsafe at any hour. I just cannot imagine someone being abducted from there.
Her car was left parked at the infamous K Mart off Lake Street. Anyone who knows this area and this business knows that for years it has been a draw for not the best of Minneapolis. It is frequented by poor economically disenfranchised individuals. I live in the suburbs and know this area/business. Everyone does, well, most people. So, it seems a deliberate thing to leave the vehicle there where it might be stolen. (Keys were in the car.) Truthfully, if I were abducting someone from the Mall of Am, why leave the car at Lake Street? It's not a direct path/connection when there are plenty of other places to leave it.
What would be the reason someone would abduct her? No sexual assault. I don't remember that she was robbed. There have been no Ted Bundys around of which I am aware. Her wedding ring was taken. Doesn't that seem odd?
