Brooklyn Park, Minnesota -
The following informaiton was released to the media today.
At 8:05 p.m. Brooklyn Park Police responded to the 7500 block of Impreial Drive on a shots fired call with one male reported to be down. Upon arrival officers located one adult male in the area who was deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. The preliminary invesitgation determined that a citizen with a valid permid to carry a handgun shot the individual. Early indications are that the shooting stems from an attempted robbery. Witness information that was corroborated with evidence at the scene confirmed that there was an exchange of gunfire between the citizen and the deceased male. Officers did recover both weapons involved in this incident and are currently conducting an ongoing investigation. There have been no arrests made and we are not seeking any other suspects in this incident.
