An owner of a taco food truck said they recalled seeing Ashley with a man, tall and bearded, in the area about a month ago. Her distinctive tattoos are what stood out.

I wonder if anyone has any knowledge of where she was heading/plans she had? I'd like to know if anyone was with her when she rented the car (hope they look at the dealership cameras).

I'm shocked I haven't seen this case before. My family's farm is about 20 miles east of Hinckley and I am very familiar with the general area. There are acres and acres of tree farms and rural, private property in this area - particularly closer to Mahtowa and Wrenshall. For context, my grandfather owned 200 acres of land and the closest neighbor was at least five miles away and their house was tucked at least a mile back on their property. Air searches as well as massive property searches, specifically those that a POI might have ties to, are going to be really important here.

Her car was found in the lake; wonder if the lake was 2' deep where they found the car - or 20' - or 200. Doesn't say they dove/sonared or did anything about the lake. Sounds like she could have driven off the road into the lake and drowned after exiting the submerged car....

Pine County Sheriff Scott Nelson said Tuesday, Oct. 5, he could not release much information on the case, as it remains an active investigation, but stressed that the public’s help in the case is vital.

“We want the public to contact us if they hear or see anything unusual regarding the case or if there’s a sighting of her,” Nelson said. “I don’t want people to assume we know everything they know.” He added, “It’s pretty wide open as to what we’re looking at right now.”

Nelson said he couldn’t answer at this time the Leader’s questions regarding where searches have been conducted or what evidence has been gathered, but said there have been items sent to the BCI for analysis. He declined to answer questions on any possible recovery of a vehicle or whether there is any “person of interest” in the case at this point.

Nelson did confirm there have been searches conducted in both Pine and Burnett counties, including drone searches.

“We’re trying to answer all the questions but we’re trying to maintain a balance right now and get information out to the public the best we can,” Nelson said.

Interesting that the detective wouldn't discuss what is posted about Ashley in Namus? There is also this statement from a witness, see below.

"An owner of a taco food truck said they recalled seeing Ashley with a man, tall and bearded, in the area about a month ago. Her distinctive tattoos are what stood out".

Has LE found and interviewed the tall, bearded man? Why did Ashley rent a vehicle from a dealership, was her car being worked on?

Is there any data about the depth of that particular lake?

11 feet deep at the deepest according to this site.

I hope they are able to do a water search. Sounds very similar to the lake my grandfather had on his property; that lake was only that depth at a few points, where the rest of the bottom was rocky and potentially dangerous in other ways.
