Bemidji Man Sentenced to 52 Years in Murder of Woman; Kidnapping, Assault of 5-Year-Old Girl

Jacob Kinn, 33, changed his plea to guilty earlier this month, admitting to the second-degree murder of Melissa Norby in addition to kidnapping and committing criminal sexual conduct with a person under 13.

He'll now serve 52 years in prison, or 624 months.

A child advocate read a victim impact statement written by the 5-year-old to Kinn in court:

Dear Jacob Kinn,

I hate you. I don't like you doing those things to me. Don't play with me. I feel sad. I don't like you.
