Couple abandons 5-year-old boy in the woods as punishment for wetting himself: Cops

A man and woman in southern Minnesota are accused of dropping off a 5-year-old boy in the woods as punishment for wetting himself.

Officials say 42-year-old Lynda Michel and 32-year-old Gregory Wilson were charged Friday in Nicollet County District Court with child neglect.

Authorities say the boy was found on Aug. 28 walking south of St. Peter, a community roughly 55 miles southwest of Minneapolis. He was crying and wet from rain when a motorist spotted him. He told authorities he had been dropped off because he had been "naughty."

From link..
Might explain why the poor little guy wets himself.

Also, if child abuse has increased since 2015, cautiously wondering if there was a decrease in family planning funding at that time?
imo, speculation.
"Investigators report that several “black and blue and red bruises” were found on the boy’s back, buttocks and hips after he was found walking along the highway alone.

Wilson told investigators that he regularly spanked and punished the child with an open hand, according to Twin Cities Pioneer Press."

Poor boy. I hope they put him somewhere safer.

I think it is less likely a problem with access to birth control and more likely a problem with easy access to drugs/alcohol.
