Comments on an old idea...
Referemce the 4 US soldiers lost in a tank in Lithuania. US Army found it own 16 ft below the surface in a swamp.

Could BB have disappeared in a swampy area?
1. Over 100 searchers combed the area soon after he disappeared. All returned.
2. LE combed over 1000 acres. No lost LE.
3. Search dog traced only to area around pond next to Essendant (business).
4. Certainly there are geologists/specialists who could have been asked to assess the area. Before a bridge is built, for example, soil and stability are assessed.

Next...
Could there have been an old quarry around the area where he disappeared, now covered over, and he stumbled into it? Possibly. Ft Snelling was built with quarried rocks from the area, and there was a quarry at Gun Club Lake, less than 1/2 mile away. And, of course, it's not to late to do an assessment.

If thoughts are BB is still there, why not tear up every inch of the area? It's not like the area is a place where anyone goes anyway, and it sure seems recovering a body should be a primary concern.
"why not tear up every inch of the area?"

uh 'cuz it is acres of swampy inaccessible glop?
with tall weeds interspersed....

This is 2025. Technology builds bridges, and you can be certain underwater areas where bridge supports are built are thoroughly investigated and approved. Same with buildings. There is obvious technology and equipment to tear up the entire area. The US soldiers who died in Lithuania were found 16 ft underground in a swamp! 16 ft underground in a swamp, and no one around here can tear up a swamp???

April 6, 2025. Eagan Police Department statement: "We are not currently looking for volunteers but encourage anyone with information to call our department."

What is that supposed to mean?

Bryce was added to The Charley Project today. It's the first time I've heard of his case. The fact we have a 'Find your friends' ping and yet nothing of Bryce's has been found (remains, clothes, phone, wallet, keys, etc.) is very interesting. Locals feel free to correct me if this incorrect, but I can't imagine the Minnesota River is so strong in that area nothing of Bryce's would be found if he did end up drowning in the river somehow. This isn't like the Golden Gate Bridge where the currents are so strong many people who jump off the bridge are swept out to sea and nothing is ever seen of them again.
Local here. Thread needs another name. He disappeared at least a mile from the Minnesota River. No one really suspects - despite river searches and two floods just in case - that he made it through swamp land, ponds to the river. There are other theories by long-time posters, etc. that he is not at Ft Snelling period, which explains Charley Project involvement. 1000 acres have been searched. Not one clue found except a tie, which MIGHT have belonged to him, and that was found near Highway 13. Friends have never talked. Parents offered $30,000 reward when LE was searching under water in pond. Reward seemed to question water search. Many more strange things about the case.

I should know more about this case than I do, living near. It’s partly that I didn’t try to sleuth or search and partly that not much is public. I’ve e searched before with local cases but didn’t feel capable with this one. I’ve thought his body is in the swamp or pond rather than abduction, etc. And I feel terrible for his parents, who have likely followed police and expert advice. Trino, I know you know lots more than I do. Can you say more within rules?

Within rules - probably not. It's a strange case with IMO not what I would consider a normal disappearance. No posters. No friends comments, etc. No explosive media stories. Going on 3 yrs, and the area hasn't been torn apart. Gun Club Lake hasn't been searched. Not a clue, except a search dog indicated a pond path, which revealed nothing. Don't think there has been a recent LE search.

Stay tuned for 3rd Annual Bryce's Blessings Classic Golf.

Do you feel there is a good chance something other than drowning occurred?
I didn’t realize Gun Club Lake hadn’t been searched.

No evidence, but I think someone picked him up. It was cold. He had no coat so why wouldn't he have taken a ride if offered? Variations as to what might have happened go from there.

I cannot imagine LE still believing he's at Ft Snelling. Going on 3 yrs. No evidence. Nothing. And, if beliefs are he's there, why isn't more being done to find him? Has Ground Penetrating Radar been used?

Another consideration.

I just completed an in person 55 Driver Course. The instructor said something that made me think of this case. "People are always drawn to light."

Last night while outside my vision was immediately drawn though our small woods to car lights shining as someone left a residence. Yes. we are drawn to light. And I think BB was drawn back to the dimly lighted businesses around Essendant and Highway 13 where he was offered a ride.

I have been down there at night on the tracks and by the holding ponds. You could not miss the lights on the Essendant building and parking lots. I have always thought he could have made it back to the roads.
