"why not tear up every inch of the area?"Comments on an old idea...
Referemce the 4 US soldiers lost in a tank in Lithuania. US Army found it own 16 ft below the surface in a swamp.
Could BB have disappeared in a swampy area?
1. Over 100 searchers combed the area soon after he disappeared. All returned.
2. LE combed over 1000 acres. No lost LE.
3. Search dog traced only to area around pond next to Essendant (business).
4. Certainly there are geologists/specialists who could have been asked to assess the area. Before a bridge is built, for example, soil and stability are assessed.

Could there have been an old quarry around the area where he disappeared, now covered over, and he stumbled into it? Possibly. Ft Snelling was built with quarried rocks from the area, and there was a quarry at Gun Club Lake, less than 1/2 mile away. And, of course, it's not to late to do an assessment.
If thoughts are BB is still there, why not tear up every inch of the area? It's not like the area is a place where anyone goes anyway, and it sure seems recovering a body should be a primary concern.
uh 'cuz it is acres of swampy inaccessible glop?
with tall weeds interspersed....
