Unfortunately since he was extremely intoxicated, he likely wasn't thinking straight and may have done things he normally wouldn't do like go traipsing through difficult terrain. Maybe he was panicking about being lost/trying to get home and kept moving...just in the wrong direction. He had no phone at that point, no way of finding his way home. I can see getting panicked in that situation if you are really drunk.

Why did they get dropped off where they did when it was so far from his home? Did the other two friends live in that area, so he figured it would be fine to just stop there and walk the 45 min home? That's not a small walk in the middle of the night and while drunk, that's for sure.

I'm also curious exactly where on his route his tie was found.

I am curious on the tie also.
And if he still had his phone with him? If so could they find it with any metal detectors?
He and 2 friends were dropped off at one of the friends house. Maybe they were all going to hang out there, but he decided he was going to walk home. I think it was a couple of miles. I would guess he has done it before, but probably not so intoxicated, so maybe the friends thought nothing of it. Or sometimes you can’t convince a drunk person of anything, and they do what they want:(

Makes no sense to me that he would venture into that terrain in the dark.
According to MSM, he was so drunk he tried to get out of his Lyft while it was moving. I don't think logic really applies here.

But then he walked a ton in about 30 minutes…would that have sobered him up a little? If he knew how to FaceTime his friends, knew his battery was dying and shared his phone location with him, seems he was somewhat coherent. Would be nice to see the FaceTime video and see how bad or not bad he was.

The area near the river is like my back door because I frequently bike it. In fact, we were asked to look for him as we biked there last Monday. There is a paved path, plus a paved Old Cedar Bridge Crossing that ends up in Bloomington, MN. That area is very open on the south side of the river. Not isolated, although it was 2:00am, and I certainly wouldn't be down there at that time. HOWEVER, there is another police report that says he left a house at Terminal Drive and Yankee Doodle, was noted at Coachman and Yankee Doodle before his phone died. Well, guess what. If he was walking toward Coachman, that's AWAY from the river. Yankee Doodle also has a paved path there. His phone pinged near the river, which appears to be the opposite direction he headed. Did someone pick him up? Did someone steal his phone and throw it around that area? Lots of considerations. Finally, if he did head to the river, he would have taken Nichols Rd (Silver Bell), which goes to the river. Saw police searching along there on Monday. I just doubt he headed to the river.
Fellow lifelong MN'er here who lives 15 minutes from this area. I've been to Eagan more times than I can count and specifically in that area. I would agree that the area is not isolated, nor would I consider it unsafe from a crime perspective.

However, it's not well lit at night and someone who is intoxicated could easily lose their way. The Cedar Bridge Crossing is pretty wide and the bridge IMO would be difficult to go over or fall off because of how it's structured.

I just have a hard time believing he made it to the river in his condition in the dark. Maybe one of the lakes or ponds. But I’ve heard they searched some of those and part of the river too.

Very possible. I know we're called the Land of 10,000 Lakes but there's actually like 12K+. Us MN'ers are so modest :). But there are numerous small lakes, tributaries and ponds scattered throughout suburban areas like Eagan even by the commercial district where he disappeared. If you live in a suburban area here, chances are very high you are within a few miles of a body of water.

They do pop up out of nowhere without signage - not that someone who was intoxicated would be in a state to see that anyway.

Not sure if the location could be an issue, but the area he is presumed missing is technically state park land. The city of Eagan ends at the industrial buildings. I was surprised there is nothing out there indicating someone is missing in the area. No signs of any searching going on, and not even one single “missing person” poster. Baffling tbh.

It is baffling how little coverage, updates on searches, etc there is about this. Near silence since Tues.

This is really sad. He just wanted to relax and have fun with friends for one evening. My heart goes out to his family and friends. I find it curious that his tie was apparently located near a road.

I hope he's located very soon.

Yes, heartbreaking.
He walked a lot that night in a half an hour…mostly on roads, so not surprising they found his tie near one of them.

I wish they would still remind people on the news that he is still missing. Don’t we owe that to him and his family?

IMO
I hope that his friends and family are still searching the area. One thing I have learned from this forum... LE can't do everything and you need to do it yourself. I would be screaming from the rooftop and partnering up with local search organizations. Many of these organizations formed because of a loved one that went missing.
My son lives off cliff in Eagan and hasn't heard or seen posters around town.
Prayers

I have seen nothing either. Numerous people have posted on the Eagan Police Facebook site that they want to help search, put up posters, etc. No responses. How would we find out if family/friends are doing anything or need help? I have looked around and seen nothing on the Rosemount sites where he grew up and went to school nor the Nextdoor site.

I was referring mainly to 13 and Yankee Doodle which are lit all the way, and even moreso once you hit 35E. It is the main reason I can't understand why he would walk into the marsh/woods heading west and not towards the lights, he knows he lives on the mall and would have to cross the highway.

I personally follow on fb Minnesota United (not soccer league), the Joe Brunn effect and united legacy. I'm sure there is more but I can't remember. I just keep on searching but nothing. Check out mn united because they have commented.

Exactly what I have been saying. Doesn’t make sense that he would head into the treacherous marsh…seemed coherent enough.

I have. I have seen a few comments, but nothing about searches. Unless I am not looking correctly.

People have been heartbroken about this since they stopped the search and we haven’t heard any updates. I drove over the Cedar/77 bridge/river during the rain/lightning storm last night and cried thinking about Bryce alone out there in that. Can’t imagine how his family/friends feel.

Those are the places besides Eagan Police sm. The searches might be closed/private but if family or LE are looking for volunteers those places you are searching will show it. If I was in better health, I would be out no matter what.

Thanks. I may head out this weekend just for my own peace of mind.
