Me too. Cry every time I see his picture or think about it. Hope his family and friends know how many people have Bryce and them on our minds.

Please take care of yourself. When I find I'm becoming too affected by a case, the best thing is honestly to stay off all devices, go be with a relative or friend - spend quality time with someone and step away from here. And prioritize getting quality sleep. Come back in a few days -usually there still won't be major news, but you'll be mentally refreshed.

If you are drunk, and it is night, you can fall in a surprizingly shallow amount of water and drown. This was a woman who walked from a bar/eatery that she worked in, back and forth most days and still managed to fall into a canal and drown. BTW, if you are are drunk and panicked, well, hypothermia....

I too am very familiar with the area. Evidence seems to point to him crossing Hwy 13, although I question how he - intoxicated - could have walked from the Lyft drop-off (Hill Ridge Dr) to Coachman and Yankee Doodle (turns), then cross Hwy 13. I wonder if he crossed Hwy 13 at Letendre - closer to the Lyft drop-off. Either way he would have headed to businesses (working businesses), and behind these businesses is no man's land with vegetation, drop-offs, and holding ponds, all of which are before the river. There is even a holding pond next to a business! I just cannot see how a heavily intoxicated person could have maneuvered all this and made it to the river. He must have stumbled - maybe into a holding pond? If he crossed at Letendre, he would be closer to larger holding ponds. The family needs to contact pros to search. Go Fund Me.

I think of Bryce often. The other night I was out for a walk, I walk the same area frequently but with it getting dark earlier, I got disoriented. I noticed I was passing the same landmarks aka walking in a circle. It was scary and I panicked for a minute - thankfully I had my phone and was able to find my way back home. And that was 100% sober!

It breaks my heart to know how scared Bryce may have been, realizing he was very lost, with no phone to navigate his way out. He was also probably very tired on top of intoxication, which adds to the panic and brain fog. I feel horrible saying this, but I hope that whatever happened, maybe he was “out of it” enough that he didn’t suffer a lot. I hurt for him, his family, and his friends who are probably never going to be the same.

Someone just mentioned drones and dive teams, but nothing about where they were looking.

We walked around the main holding ponds adjacent the industrial buildings and did not see anything, but they could be fairly deep. In the daylight and sober, we were struggling to move through the vegetation. There are thick stalks coming up out of the marshy ground and I assume that’s what the drone searches are for. If someone sat down in that kind of vegetation it would be extremely difficult to find them from ground level. The Gun Club Lake area has been mentioned too… the problem is it’s so hard to get to. You have to trek through marshland/burrs/thick branches just to get out there. It doesn’t really seem “dangerous” for groups of searchers, but it’s very unpleasant.

The land is like a wetland Bird sanctuary, so it’s state park land, but really wild.

Yes, it is wild, and I have difficulty thinking a very intoxicated person could make it though all that w/o stumbling and falling on the way to the river. No one has mentioned the RR tracks. He would have crossed them before the river.

Holding ponds... reminds me of martise windom from savage mn. He went missing Nov 7, 2015 and then found in a holding pond 4 months later. I remember the family used united legacy and basically searched daily for a month and then throughout the winter. LE worked with them and searched the pond 3 times beforehand.
They searched thr area with helicopters (thermo too), drones, water sonar, horses and ATVs beside foot searches.
1st time I heard of search apps and drones being used. None stop looking and loads of people volunteered. I couldn't help search but provided food for searchers.
I drive by the pond a lot and think about him. It was behind the target store on their tiny service road and no cameras at the time.
He died from drowning but LE stated undetermined (not accidental or anything).
Yes - holding ponds should be looked at too but can be tricky because of excess sediment.

And, holding ponds are often deeper that you would suspect.

To give a perspective think hacking your way through a field of high weeds (burrs, etc.) with no trail, no path, filled with occasional ponds/swamps, drop-offs. You need to cross RR tracks. It's a place nobody goes. AND, it is dark. You have no light. There is no one else around. Would a heavily intoxicated person make it across all this to access the river? Seems a stretch.

That’s been my thought too all along, even though so many have posted searches are focused by the river. I just don’t think he would have ventured there. If he was scared and lost in a wooded area? He stuck to lighted streets up to the point of being lost by the woods. He was to the right of the dead end of Yankee and 13 where his phone ping’d last talking with his friends. That looks like there are still lots of industrial building and lots there. I think there are RR tracks behind trees? Did he take the tracks a little north where there are lots of ponds, etc and stumble in?

Some ponds are deeper than expected. I think they need to be dredged. Cold weather is coming in a couple of weeks, along with snow. Something needs to be done this week.

I wonder if the family has heard of this group: Adventures With Purpose - Solving Cold Cases and Environmental Cleanup It is a recovery & dive team. Free. Donations. Excellent results. Recently found Kieli Rodni after LE dive team could not do so.

People have offered their services on the Eagan PD Facebook site and no responses. One guy called the PD and was hung up on twice or no one returns his calls. Seems they don’t want help. Or maybe they already found their own help. Very bizarre with the communication around this.

One would think LE would want as much help as possible. Just hope the family is not caught up that LE is the only source. Adventures with a Purpose actually works with and enhances LE. They don't try to outdo or outsource anyone. Seems the family will eventually come to the idea they need outside resources. Sure hope it's before bad weather. It seems Bryce is more than just missing after 8 days.

I would think they have been told all of their options for help. I still don’t understand the lack of communication on this case though. There was a lot of communication and calls for community search help and news coverage the first couple of days. Then it just went silent. I’m sure the family is stressed and maybe want some privacy to deal with this and in their own way, but so many people are concerned and want to help.
