I wonder if the family has heard of this group: Adventures With Purpose - Solving Cold Cases and Environmental Cleanup It is a recovery & dive team. Free. Donations. Excellent results. Recently found Kieli Rodni after LE dive team could not do so.
Considering the news that just came out about Jared / AWP I don't think I would recommend them.

I had no idea. This just came out in the past few days. From what I know about AwP it is very legit. Just one of the founders has BIG problems. Let's not indict everyone in the organization. Sam Ginn also was a founder. The Sun US has stated, "Leisek started the group in 2019, but it's unclear if he's still actively involved."

Adventures with Purpose is not the right search group for this missing person (recent news has no bearing on this). AWP is set up to find people in their vehicles under water, not a person by themselves missing in water.

Texas Equusearch

is a beloved search team at Websleuths. But LE has to invite them out. Perhaps law enforcement tis already working with such a group, hence not needing/wanting any help from the public??
It certainly builds trust in LE for them to at least make a generic comment to the public in a case like this, though, IMO.

I will say, my sister’s thought (after walking the area) is he did not get far. Her hunch is he sat down after his phone died and fell asleep, then exposure got him. She feels he is somewhere in the tree line, not far into the vegetation, and just has not been found yet. I looked it up and apparently most hypothermia deaths occur in temps of 30-50F. It got down to 42F that night.

All MOO (HOO?) of course.

I was wondering if something like this happened as well. I hope they soon find him.

There are local ones like united legacy and mn united. They need family to ask and work with LE too.

The alcohol would be a contributing factor as well; it’s a vasodilator, so it causes your core temp to drop.

totally agree with this- the only confounding thing is he is young and probably had some adrenaline so he might have moved further than the average bear IMO.

Just read the Eagan police post and all the comments so far. Wow…enough to drive a sane person crazy.

Sounds like professionals continue to search, though. I'm glad LE posted the comment.

I have to think they used dogs very early on and know his direction of travel and general route. My guess is he is right there in that general industrial area/woods and the delay is in getting permission to search it all since it is private property.

Not private property in the wooded area. Several owners come together there: MN state park, City of Eagan, City of Burnsville, Dakota County. In fact, Dakota Co has plans to build a paved trail - Minnesota Greenway - through the area. There will be a paved segment from Lone Oak to the Cedar Bridge. Problems are with the RR and building bridges. Private property ends next to the businesses. Lots of searchers did not find him. He's got to be under water.

As bad as this sounds, they must be looking for a body - Day 9. There are turkey vultures that would indicate a body on the ground. He must be in water, probably a holding pond. Suggest a Google landscape of the area to give a good idea of the area before the river. Just awful what intoxication can do to a person. This is a young man in his prime, in good shape. So sad. Check this out for a photo of the area Minnesota River Bottoms - 77/Cedar Segment Hiking Trail, Burnsville, Minnesota

I know people who work in those industrial buildings along 13, that have seen search activity in the ponds, etc near them. So yes, appear to be focused on water.
Need to instill in kids that they need to make sure everyone gets home safe after a night of drinking. I tell my own 23 year old son to take an Uber, stay the night at a friends until morning, or call me to pick him up…no questions asked. Easier said than done though.

Another focus...Saw LE walking the RR tracks north from Nicols Rd. The tracks (before the river) would have been one of his first encounters. He very well could have walked them toward St Paul but left them anywhere along the way. This morning was heavy rain. Rain on Thursday also. Snow on Friday.

Just heard LE is also back behind the industrial area back by the ponds again too. Hopefully they are closing in on something with focus on this area and RR tracks.
