• DailyMail.com can reveal that Wright, 20, had a warrant out for his arrest for attempted aggravated robbery charges at the time
• Charging papers allege Wright and a second man, Emajay Driver, attended a party in December 2019 at the home of two women in Osseo, Minnesota
• The women allowed the pair to crash after they said they didn't have a ride home
• The next morning, after one of the women went to withdraw $820 in rent money, Wright allegedly held her at gunpoint and demanded she give him the cash
• His bail was originally set at $100k with orders that he should not contact the victim or any witnesses, refrain from drugs and alcohol and not have any weapon
• It was revoked in July last year due to his 'failure to not possess a firearm or ammunition' and not keeping in touch with his probation officer
• DailyMail.com has also learned that online speculation that Wright did not know there was a warrant out for his arrest is false "

<modsnip: Quoted post was removed> All we have is the bodycam, and it says plenty about some odd choices on the part of the officer. Mr. Wright is dead, so we can't get facts from him. Wouldn't it be great if details like her toxicology screen was put out there immediately, or if she was immediately deposed, or interviewed by investigators on video that was released? Results of a psych evaluation of the officer? We don't even know if any of these things happened, because the police in her department are the ones who would tell us.

Then we'd get some facts. But that's not how it ever works. The video and his dead body are all we have and maybe all we'll get for a very long time. So of course people will be emotional and speculative.

So... this will not be a popular opinion. Please scroll and roll. I don't want to upset anyone, but i feel a need to say this.

What happened to Daunte is terrible! I wish we could turn back time. I believe the involved officer/officers do as well. I do believe that that she mistook the firearm for the tazer leading to this very tragic outcome. But let's just think for a moment how in certain occupations a mistake can have such tragic and far-reaching consequences. And, yes, making mistakes is human. Thankfully for most of us a mistake at work usually does not have the potential to end a life ... This is different for LE. I am certain that she didn't get up in the morning planning this.

Long story short, yes, Daunte did not at all deserve this and this will need to have consequences for the officer. However, she was an LE officer for 26 years and likely also saved lives and helped people. I don't know her, know little about her, but believe that she would probably do anything to go back in time. Yes, Daunte died a preventable death and there will need to be consequences, but i can't help but feel for the officer as well. I do believe that most of LE are good at heart and don't plan for these tragedies to occur. Unfortunately they are not superhuman and tragic outcomes are a possibility, especially during crisis.

My thoughts are with Daunte's family, GF, and friends! I also hope that the officer is receiving support.

Yes, Daunte was tragically killed. I just can't quite get myself to refer to this officer as a full-blown killer. Additional information may make me think differently, but for now i do think of it as a very tragic accident that costed Daunte his life and will also cost the officer dearly.

I don't mean to upset, i work with LE in the emergency room setting and based on my experience most are caring and in this line of work to help people. This is my lens and i realize i look at this case through my own unique lens. It may be naive or stupid, but, hey, we all do this to some extent, right?

When she asked again if he was serious, he allegedly told her, "I’m not playing around."

He wasn't choking and robbing the police officers. He was standing still, waiting to be cuffed, until Officer Potter made a wonky move that interfered with the cuffing. Then she made another, even worse move.

So, they should have taken him in alive to face justice. It is her fault that justice wasn't served. This is not some little oopsie that we should overlook because he wasn't a good guy. As it is, we overlook enough of the good guys getting harassed and shot by the police.

How is this even a little bit relevant? The punishment for resisting arrest is not being shot. With a gun OR a taser. It has not escalated to that degree. We can all see what happened with our own eyes. She was afraid of him. And it was not because of any knowledge of a previous incident.
