MN - Dentist Kills a Tame Lion- Catches Heat, July 2015

It IS the hunter's "fault". If not for the hunter the "guide business" would be OUT of business.

I want to know WHY this monster wasn't incarcerated for his FIRST felony poaching in Wisconsin?

I don't feel one little BIT sorry for him. He KNEW what he was doing was illegal and immoral. I hope the backlash ruins his life and lively hood.

Agreed, these hunts go on all the time, I know a lady that is going to hawaii to shoot big horn sheep. This is not the hunters fault, but the guide and landowner who have already been to court over this. jmo idk

Are big horned sheep an endangered species? This guy didn't hunt that lion, he paid some poachers $50,000 to lure it out of a protected park so he could stand there and shoot it. That's not hunting.

All you need do is read this whole article that Snick1946 posted to realize this monster believes he is above the law!

http://www.foxnews.com/science/2015...t-said-to-have-paid-55000-to-kill-cecil-lion/

"According to U.S. court records, Palmer pleaded guilty in 2008 to making false statements to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service about a black bear he fatally shot in western Wisconsin. Palmer had a permit to hunt but shot the animal outside the authorized zone in 2006, then tried to pass it off as being killed elsewhere, according to court documents. He was given one year of probation and fined nearly $3,000."

"Palmer is properly licensed and able to practice in the state, according to the Minnesota Board of Dentistry. Board records show that Palmer was the subject of a sexual harassment complaint settled in 2006, with Palmer admitting no wrongdoing and agreeing to pay a former receptionist more than $127,000."

He'll only tell the truth when he gets caught in a lie!

StarTribune article: http://www.startribune.com/what-we-know-about-minnesota-dentist-walter-palmer/318943371/

"Palmer told the Times that he can hit a playing card from 100 yards with his compound bow and he eschews bringing a firearm on hunting trips as a backup."

The Times article: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/13/sports/13elk.html?_r=1&

"Learning to shoot at age 5, he has slain all but one of the animals recognized by Pope and Young.

“I don’t have a golf game,” Palmer said."

This reminds me of when Kendall Jones from Texas got alot of heat for killing a lion, and other animals such as a leopard, an elephant and a rhino. The difference between her and this guy? She got a permit from the government, so it was completely legal, she didn't lure any animals out of a protected territory, and she didn't just leave the meat behind, it was donated to a local village(s). And her money that was paid for her hunts go back into animal conservation efforts such as anti poaching. It's actually well documented how money from these selected hunts actual help to increase the population of the very animals hunted. It's not for me personally but I think when done properly can serve a purpose. HOWEVER what this guy did is completely different. And while the group who took him carries a lot of the blame, he carries blame as well. I think we all know "not knowing" is not a real defense strategy. It was his job to research and make sure that the group handling this was reputable and legit. I don't think he should receive death threats, but I do think it should be made known what he has done, so any patients can be aware of what the money he makes from them goes towards.

Also, just want to add that I was vehemently against all forms of this until I did some research into it. One example to see how the money from this helps would be the white rhino if anyone cared to look it up on their own.

And also wanted to add that this guys character speaks for itself. I think MOST hunters would not agree with the things this man has done.

He can hit a playing card but he can't hit a lion except to injure it? He better go back to hunting school.

For a man who apparently likes to attach his manhood to his hunting skills, neither one is very good.

He shot this lion with a bow and arrow and then the poor thing wandered around WOUNDED for two days until they tracked it down and shot it.

Boooooo on this 'man'.

OH not so, not so at all. The number one rule in hunting is that YOU alone are responsible for your weapon and your hunt.

This guy is a puke and I love the fact that he's on the run. He likes hunting so much? Now he's the hunted.

When I saw his photo I said to myself this guy is a CLASSIC narcissist. Text book. He could have a whole new line of work just going around the country showing people himself.

He issues an apology and then owns NONE of the responsibility.

I love this response. I do.

Maybe I'm wrong but I was glad to see on the Today show this morning that he's had to close his practice. He's also been getting death threats. When the hunter becomes the hunted.

I feel for the employees at his dental office. They are also victims of his narcissistic stupidity.

Jimmy Kimmel's emotional take-down of lion-killing Minnesota dentist

http://www.myfoxtwincities.com/stor...lion-killing-minnesota-dentist#at_pco=cfd-1.0

"The monologue reached a crescendo when Kimmel became choked up with emotion in turning this negative into a positive. The host is steering people toward http://www.wildcru.org to donate to the wildlife preservation group who had previously been keeping track of Cecil the lion."

A little more information than I had previously heard about Cecil's collar.

bbm, that is your opinion, not mine in this situation.

This according to Zimbabwe's The herald.

http://www.herald.co.zw/cecil-the-lion-killer-professional-hunter-granted-1000-bail/

PROFESSIONAL hunter, Theodro Bronkhorst, was yesterday granted bail after he appeared in court charged with failing to prevent the illegal hunting and killing of Cecil the lion at Antoinette Farm in the Gwayi Conservancy.
