I know little about Zimbabwe- but I'd bet the official corruption level is stratospheric. Money talks and game hunters have a lot of it to spread around in bribes to officials.

any word on what action will be taken against the lion?

What the lion did is absolutely the course of nature.

But a pinhead with glow in the dark teefs who pays 50k to flush a tame animal out of a protected reserve so he can shoot him and pretend he in uber manly is just a waste of humanity. Mighty hunter, my foot.

Trophy hunting is just murder. The hunters I know are adamant that you only kill what you eat, and the kill must be quick.

Cecil suffered for days because of this loser.

But yeah, it's HILARIOUS.

I know that in the title of this thread it says he was tame and have seen some state it in their post, be I don't know that he was tame because he was collared for tracking and observation does not mean he was tame. jmo idk I don't think anyone could walk up to him, if people got close to he for observation purposes and he just laid there and didn't run away does not constitute tame. jmo idk

No, of course he wasn't "tame." He was a lion, not a labrador retriever.

Zimbabwe's ban on big-game-hunting lasted all of 10 days:

But then, what would you expect from a country whose president eats an entire zoo for his birthday:

"His guests were fed a young elephant, and two buffaloes, two sables and five impalas were also donated to the president by a local landowner. He also threw in a lion and a crocodile to be stuffed as an extra gift for Mugabe. On top of this, 40 cows were offered to the president by two members of his government. A second elephant is going to be shot and given to the Victoria Falls community."

IMO, Walter Palmer is never going to come back from his murder of Cecil. I think he just might commit suicide.
